Perfect trail for a short trip. Family friendly tho there are some tough spots— crossing the stream with a baby on my back wasn’t easy but we made it thru thank god! The path was slick in spots. Looking forward to exploring more trails on this area.

Busy trail traffic today. Very family friendly hike. Lots of slippery and muddy spots, some icy spots as well.

Trail was beautiful today. Some areas dry. Some areas icy. Some areas muddy. Only had to use spikes in one section. Otherwise was able to carefully walk through the icy areas without spikes.

Few parts on the east side where the trail wasn’t marked well One rattlesnake sighting Very muddy in a few places - some snow On stairs Great hike for the variety of terrain Took us longer than expected - 25 minute miles

Horrible trail with snow. First half was extremely dangerous for kids and dogs. Second half was muddy. Maybe better in the summer, but will not go if there is a possibility for ice.

We got turned around once or twice. I recommend going clockwise with the loop. Otherwise, it was a nice moderate hike with gorgeous views for a good portion of the hike with a lot of variety to look at for at least half the hike. I agree with the comment below in it being longer than 4.2 miles but I think that depends where you park.

This is a great trail, would not recommend to do in sneakers, hiking boots/ spikes are needed. As of November 3 half the trail was covered in snow, ice, or mud but is still great to do. There are a few spots that you need to take slow. The total trail length was about 6 miles not 4.2.

Easy but still feels like youre hiking. Family-Friendly with plenty of beautiful views! Definitely stop at the amphitheater and do some exploring!

10/12/2019 - A really nice trail! There are old home and water dam ruins, some great rock structures. Due to snow Thursday night there were some shaded muddy areas, but mostly the trail was easily traveled. Mostly narrow paths heading south, but wide open areas coming back up north from the cliffs. Great views from the high rock cliffs and closeness to trickling streams. We took routes on Cherry Creek, Castlewood Canyon, and Rim Rock trials.
