HikingOff trailOver grown

Hiked 8/8/20 - This is NOT a well marked or easy to follow trail for right side of the loop part. It's easy enough to get to the pond, and very pretty, wide trail, nice hike, fairly easy. But coming back from the "stick" to connect to the other part of the loop is virtually impossible to find unless you have downloaded the map and have it in your hand to direct you. We walked by it multiple times before finally seeing what sort of looked like it could be a path we could take. When you get to the water trough, the trail disappears completely and the only way we found our way back was by rambling through tall grass (which would be a wetland in the spring) and fumbling around until we found it. I hesitate to call this a legit loop. The fact that we felt lost of the majority of the hike back took away from the experience significantly.

HikingGreat!

Beautiful trail! Lots of aspen and pine trees, you pass over a small creek, some gentle ups and downs, easy for kids . We saw a couple of established camp sites along the way. Nice big boulders. The trail ends and then people who choose to can go up the boulders for a nice view.

Really beautiful view at the end. We were the only hikers but there are a ton of dirt bikes and ATVs that are in nearby trails. So it was never quiet.

Good trail. The end past the pond is actually really fun and there is a great balanced rock peak where you can climb almost to the top.

you will climb the first few miles, so be sure you have good shoes and are comfortable with incline. I dont know what the deal is with this recording but after you hit the 2nd road crossing your AllTrails will tell you that you are off trail, however, there are no other trails. we just walked on the "wrong trail" until we hit a meadow below a mountain of rocks. we crossed the meadow and scrambled up the rocks just fine. no clue where the supposed last 3/4 of the trail is/was but we still had a good time!

Easy, pretty hike! There are some good views, nothing too crazy. I was up here on a Saturday at 6:30am and was the first up thr trail. I only saw a few groups on the way down.

Awesome trail! Beautiful views from the boulders atop Mount Margaret. Got to trail at 7:45 am and there were only two other vehicles in the lot.

Hiked today (7/31). We were the first car in the parking lot at 9:00 on a Friday. Only saw a handful of people on the trail. The views are typical of the Red Feather Area with a nice view of the valley at the end. There are still a few wildflowers. We had to navigate through a herd of cattle that were blocking the trail. I was worried about going downhill first and having to return uphill but for the most part it was a very gradual elevation gain and not too tiring. Outhouse is open at the trailhead.

We backpacked and thought there was water at the end of this trail. Unfortunately, the best water we could find was Dowdy Lake, so we ended up camping over that way. The trail was v easy! Not too much shade, wear sunscreen.

Very easy with minimal incline but got hot and dry. Ended at a granite intrusion with an okay view of a valley to the left.

Beautiful, challenging hike. Very glad we took the extra scramble to the top of the peak. Views were spectacular. Definitely steep and rocky at times. Our 11 year old handled it just fine, but his parents are a little tired and sore. Ran into a total of 6 people on a Friday afternoon, so very quiet. There's a small spring toward the base of the trail about 20 to 30 feet off the path.

Restrooms closed, but open across the road at the other trailhead I'm told. No fee. Fun hike with our dog to roam. Hot sunny day today and not a whole lot of shade. The falls were running and felt good in the shade there. Not too much elevation, so a good hike on a hot day.

The view at the top is wild but whoever recorded the original trail map fucked up wildly. Here’s an edit: near the top, the trail splits and on the map will show a blue dotted line leaning right. Follow that, not the recorded trail. You’ll come to clearing with a peak at the top. That’s the waypoint, it’s a short walk, and the end result is beautiful. But follow the trail that’s exists, not the one drawn

Very accessable trail, great for hiking, biking, jogging, horseback riding, and camping. I'd recommend going early or late in the day, not much shade to stop the mid day sun.

This was a very easy trail for our 6 year old to hike. Only bummer the fire tower was closed during the week, but there was a nice area to sit and eat a snack.

Very nice and easy hike. Got to trailhead around 9:45am and maybe two other cars in lot. Had most of the hike to ourselves. When we got to the “end trail” sign we climbed up the boulders for some beautiful views. Definitely a good hike for all ages minus the length, might not be good to little kiddos.

Hiking

Very easy hike, but the scenery is not something to brag about. Lady Moon trail is right across the street and holds more greenery, more changing terrain, wildflowers, birds and the like. This trail is all ponderosa pine and pretty exposed to the sun. We did take a little detour to Dowdy lake on the way back (maybe .5 miles each way detour) and that was a nice break as there isn't much water or shade on this trail. My dog was thrilled. It lands you on the back side of Lake Dowdy so there are less people, which is refreshing :) The view at Mt Margerette if you climb up on the rocks is pretty gorgeous though

Hiking

I was headed to the Mt. Margarette trail (which is just across the street) I hiked both of these and Lady Moon is definitely the hike of choice. It is not as flat as mt. margarette, but the beauty is incredibly diverse, more flowers, more birds, more greenery, more scenic views and we were greeted by a rainbow! Not a hard hike and quite lovely, you feel more tucked back than Mt. Margarette
