Hiked 10/20/2019 - no fee for parking or park entrance fee - no restroom or trash services at TH - strong wind couple of trees got blown down - trail difficulty was not bad good amount of struggle but not too much - waterfall in the end is barely dripping - 4th time coming here, the best time to come here this year was July. The waterfall was flowing strong and all the spring snow has melted.

Trail was awesome but I do have to disagree with the moderate rating it's definitely an easy Trail I did it for the first time in the snow on October 20th 2019 in a stock 7.3 L Powerstroke crew cab extended bed truck stock wheels and tires manual tranny and transfer case it was an easy climb even in the snow the start of the trail it's probably the hardest in the snow at least I cannot attest to the trail dry but if you have a SUV or truck all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive decent ground clearance you'll be fine you do not need any aftermarket additions to do this Trail even in the snow I kept my tires at 30 PSI I did drop them down from 90 PSI when I got there if you look on the trail map it may seem it would be easy to take a wrong turn the main path is very easily laid out going up you can't really take a wrong turn going down it's easier to take a wrong turn so try to give yourself landmarks on all of the forks for the way down absolutely recommend this Trail I plan to go back next time it snows as well last thing I will say is there's a lot of private property most of it is clearly marked with Gates thought that would be something to mention

Only made it about 2.5 miles up before turning around due to the snow. After one mile in, there were no footsteps to follow, but we followed the trail pretty easily on our own. About 6 inches of snow when we turned around at 2.5, the trail was harder to follow at that point. Beautiful hike, and only saw two people on the way down.

good hike. steady incline. quite a bit of snow and windy at the top today. We didn't need poles or microspikes. pretty overcast today, so couldn't see the mountains as well. will definitely try again in better weather.

amazing. as good as it gets!

Great pretty easy trail. Hard to see the falls right now.

we hiked this with out-of-towners on 10/19/19. it was sunny and windy! the trail was fairly busy with hikers and pups! we brought our dog as well. she is knew to hiking and did just fine on this trail. we stopped and parked before the trailhead adding on around .5 miles to and from the trailhead(total of 1 mile added). Glad we did because that .5 miles is very uneven and I believe even our Subaru outback would have bottomed out.

I hiked this trail early October before any snow and it was very pretty! Not crowded which is always a huge plus, and just enough challenge. Once you got above tree line views were amazing. This trail is dog friendly- I came across a man that was very unhappy to see dogs! Who doesn’t like dogs? But anyways gave me a really hard time about having mine there. Do your research people! There are plenty of trials that don’t allow dogs, stick to those.

beautiful spot, you'll need 4 wheel drive and a high suspension to drive the last 20 minutes. road was closed(as of oct 15th) about 10 minutes from the trail, had to park and walk the rest of the way

Awesome trail with beautiful views even with snow cover. If you’re able, the 4WD trail head cuts out a lot of boring trail and gets you close to the bottom. Current conditions had about 3-6” of snow (drifts were thigh high near Upper Mohawk). Tough to see the little head rocks under the snow cover but was still a fun hike. I’d suggest visiting the first falls just off the trail (description says you can’t miss it and I agree). Also, making it to Upper Mohawk is a must. The view is incredible ahead and behind of you. Poor signage for the trail but is worn enough so you can tell in most spots. The AllTrails map is very accurate. Completed the hike from 4WD TH to Upper Mohawk and back in 3hr 30min. Could have cut that down if I was t trying to find Upper Mohawk. Trail is not bad in terms of steepness except from a. Few spots and at the end. Would highly suggest for anyone looking for a short hike with rewarding views.

unreal views at the top! it got windy up near the top with a few gusts but bringing layers made it comfy. snacks. fun easy 20ft scramble at the end. nice practice hiking at decent elevation

Subtract a bit for the drive out. Explored off the trail a bit. Amazing views from the lake. Would have completed full loop but limited on time.

Some snow, but easy going through. Beautiful day.

Amazing trail! Plenty of wild animals to spot as you walk along with amazing views. Definitely worth the hike!

Didn't make it to the top due to puppy paw problems. Made it up a mile or so and the views are stunning. It gets pretty windy once you are out of the treeline. There is a good few inches of snow on the trail. Make sure you have your winter gear. Plenty of parking and ample space on the trail for other hikers.

Perfect weather! Great hike.

Great easy hike with stunning views for its size and strain! Lots of cute doggos along the way. Trail can be rocky and uneven at points so be careful if you have weak ankles.
