Just did Cupid for a short and fun hike. almost summer like conditions. Trail up was dry with light patches of snow. I would recommend bringing warm gear as the weather changes frequently. A small snow storm hit us, but it was done in 20 minutes. No traction needed.

Pretty and very full of snow right now 5/25. I should’ve brought snowshoes! Ended up being 6 miles because our car wouldn’t make it up the dirt road (0.5 mile).

Definitely recommend snow shoes. Just hit this trail yesterday and in some parts, the snow was up to our knees. Great starter trail for a hiking newbie like myself. Not terribly scenic, but still beautiful this time of year with all the snow.

Trail closed until June 15th

Fairly approachable hike for all abilities. The views are okay and maybe impressive for newbies or short term visitors who don't have too much time to stay.

Amazing view at top, 360 degree view, good workout and beautiful drive, I highly recommend this trail, it’s a great mini prep for a 14er

Just did this trail today. Difficult getting above trendline given still deep snow but then trail opens up and is easily hiked to the top. Windy along ridges so dress in layers for wind chill temps. Beautiful 360 views. Well worth the time.

Absolutely gorgeous hike. The snow can be a bit challenging in the spring months but the views are worth the effort. My group and I had lunch right next to Silver Dollar Lake and it’s hard to think of a more perfect and peaceful setting.

Great and easy hike. Beautiful views everywhere!

Perfect trail for someone seeking a half day beginner-intermediate trail. We hiked on 5/19/18 and were nervous about not being prepared for the snow/ice. There were some slick spots but totally doable in tennis shoes.

Based off the previous reviews I had read, did this hike solo and enjoyed every minute of it. Traffic was light, only ran into a few people every now and then. Climbed down to sit on the rocks in front of the falls, but couldn’t initially figure out how to get back up the rocks back to the trail. Overall, can’t wait to hike again and looking forward to a nice warm day so I can wade in the stream to cool off. During the week is best too- hardy any traffic.

Amazing hike, one of my favorites! Proposed to my fiance at the top next to a waterfall

5/23 Couldn’t make it to the very end but the views are awesome. I will definitely be back in a month. With that being said there was a lot of trash along the hike, I collected as much as I could. After the first mile, on your left, there is a small clearing when you can see the river there is a ton of metallic confetti caught in the grasses. Spent an hour trying to get most of it. Help me out if you go on the trail and try and collect it so it doesn’t end up in our rivers or wildlife. Also plenty of people leaving there dog poop bags along the trail.

I typically do 10 mi hikes, so to me this trail is easy with a sprinkle of challenge. You get good scenery, little waterfalls, trees, wildflowers, and little rivers. I brought hiking sandals so that I could walk through the water and keep myself cool. The hike is the best when its cloudy. Theres also a place where you can overlook the mountain and its valleys about 10 mins in. The trail wasnt really busy, saw maybe 4 groups of hikers. One of my favorite quick hikes!

Great 4x4 area with amazing views near Mt. Evans that is right off highway. Air down, pick up your trash, and be aware of those shooting who are not too aware of where they are shooting. :(

I've ran this 2 times with Front Range 4x4 during trail clean up days. There are some great camp sites up here and awesome views of Mt. Evans. Again please pick up your trash and casings.

Great trail close to Denver to get out, run a lap in the rocks, and grab some dinner in Idaho Springs after. I've ran this one time and it was in a stock Frontier Pro 4x with AT tires. I scratched the lower front bumper below the fog light in one spot. Other than that I was fine on the trail. Please pick up your trash and thank Front Range 4x4 group for doing a volunteer cleanup on this trail 2 times per year.

Hiked on May 12, 2018, and could not have asked for a better hike. Fitbit indicated it was longer than 4.2 but tt is a great hike, not that difficult.

Great trail and the view at the top is worth the climb! Climb up felt harder than “easy” but the altitude has been messing with us. We went today (5/22/18) and there were places that still had snow/slush which made it slick at times.

There are few trails here, so you can explore quite a bit. There is cell service so you can open the All Trails app and see where you are. One path is wide and flat, good for running! Other paths have narrow trails in the deep forest, beautiful creek, and bluffs overlooking the falls, highly recommend.

It’s usually very busy since it’s so close to Denver. It’s also a short hike so can go out and back in an hour. However the views of the lake and glacier are beautiful especially if you hike up the glacier a little!

Wonderful, easy to moderate hike! Falls are small but beautiful. Great for my pup as nothing difficult and not too long! Perfect for a short morning or afternoon hike!

One of my favorite easier hikes. Amazing 360 views at the top.

Amazing hike! The views were beautiful and we even got to see some deer along the trail!

Amazing trail. We were fortunate enough to go on a foggy day in Denver and we were literally on top of the clouds when we reached the top. Indescribable.

Don't give this trail a bad review because your car couldn't handle the road....
4WD isn't required but I wouldn't go unless I had it. The road gets rough and high clearance is required. We drove up there and made it about half way up the road before we had to stop and hike because of the deep snow and slush. Totally worth it though!

This is one of my favorite hikes and I plan to come back! The scenery is stunning, the trail is well maintained but still natural. The lake is kept quiet and peaceful and even though it’s busy I never felt crowded. We started to the left this time and the shady trees were perfect for the afternoon in September 2017. Highly recommend! Now I want to paddle board the lake itself. We also saw a juvenile moose in the marsh to the south of the trail near the parking area.

Really nice loop and super close to Breck.

Road blocked off by snow drifts that are impassable as of May, 19 2018. In a 4 inch lifted jeep it was not possible for us. Come back when its warmer.

We saw 3 moose on this trip! It was fabulous! We started out left too with other hiker’s advice. The other side had more ice and snow. It was much dryer than 10 days ago. Right side did have some ice but not too much. The marsh lands on the back side of the lake were amazing. Found a nice log to grab a bite to eat on next to the river. There were several man made bridges to go over so good balance is required on some. It was a lovely trail. We will be back!
