This is a nice, flat, kid-friendly trail to see a nice waterfall. It’s more like a short walk than a hike, but good for the kids.

HikingGreat!

Easy, short trail with not much elevation gain but still beautiful view of lower Yosemite falls. Trail is paved and shaded too and people were swimming in the pool of the falls when we reached the viewing area of the falls.

More like a short walk than a hike. Regardless a must do if you want to see the majesty of Yosemite. Great easy one for the kids.

Easy stroll among beautiful shaded trees. Wide field of river rocks to practice your balancing zen. Falls is at a trickle but still a worthwhile view.

Due to season and drought the falls are weak. Still an incredible view at a massive waterfall. Not long or difficult so definitely worth a short stop.

Mellow loop to check out the lower falls. 60% of people wearing masks. Great little walk/hike for 3yo and 4yo. Hot weather! 95*

Beautiful! We did this right when we got into the valley on a late Saturday afternoon. We saw two brown bears which was a delight, and the view from the boardwalk in Cooks Meadow was out of a movie. I would recommend for a nice late afternoon or evening stroll!

Nice trail to the lower falls and almost fully shaded. Water is not running much this time of year.

A great trail! However, majority of the lake is dried up right now.

Beautiful view for sunset. Taking in the landscape and the valley below feels surreal. I’m giving it 5 stars for the view alone but the population here was not the smartest. Please wear a mask and socially distance when you came here. This is the place where I saw the least mask wearing in the whole park :( This is ridiculous considering it is an EASY hike and should be the easiest time to wear one when you are having no problems with breathing!!! Luckily, it wasn’t too crowded when I went- the parking lot was only about 3/4 full.

Pretty for a quick jaunt, but it pales in comparison after just completing Vernal Falls, as there isn’t much left coming down in late July. There is a tiny stretch with moderate elevation gain. Good place to dip your feet in the water or wade. For parking, you can park across the street at the Lodge (it says no day use parking, but as far as I could tell, no one was checking.)

Beautiful spot to soak your feet in the clean, cool water after hiking. We came in July 2020 and there were just a few other people soaking their feet and playing in the water. The water level was very low when we visited.

We got to Glacier Point in time to see the sunrise and it was BEAUTIFUL! There are several outhouses in the parking lot, just in case you are curious.

This was our first time at Yosemite and this trail is definitely a good introductory trail to the place!! It's great for beginners. Just be sure to pack a lunch and water and you'll survive, without a doubt. This trail combines with the Lower Yosemite Valley trail so there is more people during that half of the walk. The great thing about this trail is the meadow and Merced River. It's so beautiful and filled with life! We stopped a lot to soak in the different views, plus a lunch break, and it took us 3 hours total.

Beautiful and easy family stroll to the falls. It is mostly shady but I can see it getting warm on hot days. We got to see bear poop along the way and a ranger explaining to us all about it- which was exciting! There was an area where you are allow to go down to the rocks to scramble a bit to get a closer view which was a nice touch.

Beautiful and easy trail. Best to go in spring before lake dries up. It’s a popular spot so be ready for lots of foot traffic and recreates at and in the lake. No real photo opportunities due to too many people in June. Still gorgeous views nonetheless. Bring your Keens to protect your feet if you want to walk in or play in the water. I recommend the hiking trail, not so much the bike path.

The trail itself and even the crazy winding road to get there is stunning! Amazing views of half dome and the valley. We headed up there to see the sunset and apparently that’s the spot people go to watch it because it was insanely crowded. I didn’t realize that was the sunset spot or we would’ve picked somewhere else or even a road point to watch it from before then. It was way too crowded. Zero social distancing and hardly any masks on. There should have been a ranger up there enforcing it to an extent or monitoring how many cars went up because it was far too many and uncomfortable. No wonder covid’s been found at the park recently.

A Yosemite Valley classic, this is an easy stroll on an entirely paved path. Very family-friendly and dog-friendly as well. The trail is probably about 80% shaded, but during the summer months it does get very warm in the afternoon (~90F), so be sure to bring enough water for everyone. We took our golden retriever with us and he enjoyed it a lot despite it being quite warm. Be mindful of the warm asphalt in the hot afternoon, as it can hurt their pads. Granite especially can feel very hot, so it's a good idea to keep your pets off the rocks exposed to sunlight. Our fuzzy boy enjoyed cooling off in Yosemite Creek after the hike. When we went on a Saturday in Mid July just after lunch time, it was only moderately crowded - probably helped a lot by the day use reservation system. Closest/easiest parking is on the south side of the road by Yosemite Valley Lodge.
