Pretty cool views the whole way. I suggest just following the desert view signs. It’s the more challenging and fun part of the hike. We went counter-clockwise from the trailhead. After hitting the peak, coming down the other side is the really fun/pretty part. Great hike and will be doing it again!

Great trail. It was the best marked trail we have ever hiked. We are older & slower so it took us 6:45 of hiking & which included picnic lunch at Lake C. We started at 9 am. It was mostly shaded, mostly up and down with a few sections of level. But nothing extreme. It was an AWESOME hike. Occasionally I would be whacked with a branch poking into the trail so it might be a good idea to bring long pants and a light long sleeve shirt. I’ve got some minor arm and leg scratches. The fall colors were beautiful. Lake C was so nice too. We encountered no other hikers on this trail. Not one all day long. 11.9 miles

Great short hike with plenty of good views. A mix of terrain made it fun and the narrow paths provided good shade at times. Definitely recommend this hike if you stay at William Heise.

Pretty decent trail, simple loop but there are other trails. Spotted a baby rattle snake along the way.

Nice hike with some great views of the desert mountains. Has some trees but mainly chaparral. Witnessed a gorgeous sunset.

Not a lot to see here.. for the amount of uphill, bugs, and scramble, I was hoping for a decent view/photo

So many bugs! We were unable to enjoy the few shaded areas bc that’s where they were the worst! We saw a couple of deer near the water reservoir, lots of birds and wildlife tracks.

Great views of Cleveland National Forest and Salton Sea (from Glen’s view). It’s plenty rocky and a little steep in some places, but in short, rewarding bursts.

it was a lot of fun and easy to do. inclines weren't too bad we went left so the steepest parts were downhill. kids loved it even in the middle of summer the shaded areas cooled you down

Great hike! Intermittent shade. My wife and I hiked with our 11-year-old son. Great hike for outdoorsy kids 8 and up. A few Sections were just mildly overgrown but no big deal.

Beautiful and relatively easy trail. Just a few steep uphills and downhills. Shady and green the whole way!

Late July in the afternoon! Beautiful but hot. Great work out with cool visuals. Bees along the way!

Didn’t really do the Canyon Lake Trail. Just some random paths in the woods adjacent to Pinezanita Campground.

Completed this trail with my almost 4-year old, although he got tired just over the halfway mark and I had to carry him the remainder of the hike. We veered to the right as we preferred to traverse steep inclines first. A bench at the top was a nice place to rest. Plenty of shade throughout, but not at the steep areas.

Absolutely beautiful walk

Not a bad trail, make sure you have some good hiking shoes because there a tons of rocks. At glens peak you can see as far as the salton sea. Nice views. Decent breeze. I’d do it again on a cooler (not hot summer) day.
