Overall good trail for me and my dog. Not a great trail for running, very rocky. There were a few downed trees blocking the trail, but easy to get around.

Great trail , walking clock wise is easier. Great views. A little bushy. This in Shasta-Trinity’s national region. (Not Whiskeytown national region) Easy access from I-5

Lots of poison oak, and some brush encroaching trail, but still easily passable. The gnats, however were relentless today!

Great trail. Beautiful views even after the CARR Fire. Found lots of old cans and pieces of old homes now that the foliage has all been cleared out. There's a cool old miners camp site and dump site. the mines were full of water too. The trail goes behind the Whiskeytown Cemetery as well.

Good, rocky hike. Follows the coast of the peninsula so the water is always in view. Access to private, little beaches for swimming. Fairly private, underused - the trail is very slightly overgrown and lightly obstructed in places. Not a difficult hike, but takes careful footwork.

road closed!

The trail is currently closed. We hiked it anyways. It’s a very easy hike. With the trees down on the trail it needs some work. There are a few spots that are slippery and slightly steep because of the trees being down. Not a big deal for most.

definitely the best of all the falls in whiskey town. very easy hike. took me about an hour there and back. closed after Carr fire.

we entered this trail from the West point instead of the east side. it ended up being a very easy hike of only about 2 miles to the waterfall instead of the 6 if you started on the other side. closed untill reevaluated after Carr fire

needs some work on the poison oak growth on the side of the trails. It looks like they put in a lot of work in clearing the trail of this season's downed trees. there were some signs posted the trail was closed but it was not clear until we reached the other end of the loop. Great trail but needs some work.

Explored this trail on an overcast day with a friend and we were not disappointed! I would call this a moderate trail but the worst of it was at the beginning (we went counterclockwise) where it was narrow and rutted out. There were so many little mines and areas to pop down by the creek that we spent hours exploring this trail. What a gem! It might be miserable in the middle of a hot summer day (burned trees = no shade in some areas), but if you hit it early or late enough and in spring or fall, this is a great adventure. I can't wait to take my kids out on it!

Beautiful, especially with Shasta Lake so full right now, but tons of poison oak encroaching the trail. May 24, 2019 so I had to give it 3 stars. Also, there's a $7 day use fee.

Been on this trail a few times and just went out recently after the fire and it’s still a pretty trail but a lot of the trail is washed out making this a short but rough trail.

As of today, 5/11/19... access road to the trail was CLOSED!

Still a beautiful hike after the Carr Fire. Little pops of green growing up through the ashes leading up to the mine, then we were surrounded with wild flowers the rest of the way. Multiple springs for the pup to drink out of, but we still gave her water because it was so warm. Saw a couple of trail runners and 2 others who came to see the flowers. Very peaceful, and a good way to get the heart rate up after not exercising all winter :)

Relatively easy hike overall. Rated 4 stars because some of the trees have fallen which made it as an obstacle throughout the hike (mainly for non active hikers or flexible folks). Lots of shades and people fishing. Easy-moderate.

Road closed. Unable to get there
