It is a short hike through the woods, across open bluffs, and past seasonal wildflowers down to the beach. Low tide is the best time to visit. On the high bluffs above the beach there is an open meadow with scattered stands of alders. Visitor facilities include restrooms, parking, and a small picnic area with, tables and stoves. Park open sunrise to sunset.

Beautiful! Only reason I did four instead of five stars was due to the broken stairs going from the main trail to the beach. We will definitely do the trail again in the future!

great, quick hike. if heights don't bother you, take all the side trails you can find for some REAL views. I just wish there were more vistas, but really worth it for the length and the accessibility.

Fun little spot for a quick run

Very enjoyable trail with scenic views. The trial is well maintained and can be narrow at points. Take time to enjoy the stops. Easy for most..watch a few spots with roots and rocks.

Kid friendly. Dog friendly. Easy to walk or easy to run. Out and back with a loop within the train. Beautiful view at the end.

Lovely trail through a rainforest to a cove and beach. I would say it’s actually easy (just one short steep climb), but is not friendly for disabled people due to that steep section. Very kid and dog friendly. Just a lovely lovely area. Combine a few of the trails here and make a whole day of it.

What a beautiful hike. Up on cliffs overlooking the ocean and then down into the amazing cove. Very easy trail, besides a couple climbs. The flat parts are very safe, we saw a lady with a cane and she was doing great. Blackberries along the trail make it extra sweet. Dog friendly!!

It’s a well manicured and maintained trail. Limited elevation so I would agree that it is an easy trail. The “spur” trails offer a short jaunt to expansive lookout points. The only word of caution is to be aware of the time of day when you visit. It was clear near the bottom of the trail but as I approached the zenith of the hill, I was engulfed in fog and was unable to see anything. By the time I reached the end of the trail I looked up and noted clear skies where I once stood. I love the fact it is a loop which gives you a 365 degree point of view. If you’re in Trinidad, this trail is a “must walk”

The unpaved side was a bit overgrown in places but overall it was a great hike. There are plenty of benches along the way to rest and the breeze was nice and cool.

really good trail. easy, very dog friendly, very beautiful, lots of shade, beautiful bridges and little streams, the beach it leads out to is beautiful if you have never been. only downside is lots of Spurs and forks so be careful. highly recommended.

This is not an easy trail for people who find it hard to climb uphill. Half of the trail is going steadily uphill. If you don’t mind that you’ll encounter beautiful views.

Impressed with how well kept and isolated this trail is! Makes for peaceful strolls with serene views.

pleasant morning hike with great views. Almost an island with water on 3+ sides.

Easy trail, dog friendly. Couple different ways to get to the beach.

Beautiful views of the ocean and town.

Amazing short hike

Lovely easy hike to get your heart rate up, but not difficult. Great for families and puppers.

This is a nice hike with great ocean views. I thought finding the trailhead was a little tricky. Heading toward the ocean on Trinity, turn right on Edwards and left on Bay (google maps calls it Lighthouse Road, but I think it said Bay Street). That will take you to the parking lot near the trail head. The trail is paved road and gravel. About ¼ of the way up, there is a dirt offshoot to the right, but stick on the road at this point. When you reach the cross monument, you can take the dirt path to the right, which will take you back down to the offshoot. The dirt path has great ocean views, benches and some short spurs to take. Unfortunately, the lighthouse is only open to the public on the first Saturday of the month and you can’t (at least we couldn’t) even see the lighthouse anywhere from the trail. Still, on a nice day, nothing beats the beautiful ocean views.

Nice trail! A little steep at the beginning, but there were some great views along the way!

Went here awhile ago but was the most amazing cove, was a perfect day! Tide pools with starfish kids had a great time, short easy hike down to the water, a must see!

This was a really fun trail. took our 2, 4 and 7 year olds. The beach was a bit harder to get to but very cool when we go down. The cliff off looks was very pretty and super windy.

Very enjoyable hike with beautiful views. Spend some time on the beach afterwards!

It’s an easy stroll through the forest, with incredible coastal views along the way. The descent to Elk Head is an incredible panoramic view. Crashing waves, the sun peeking through a cloudy sky: this hike is good for the soul.

Great little hike with some impressive views to college cove and Trinidad Head. Great spot for whale watching too.

Absolutely beautiful views! Well worth it!!

Beautiful quick hike to some of the Northern California coastal cliffs. We went at sunset and it was gorgeous - the water was serene yet powerful/intimidating. It can be a little muddy at parts. Make sure you continue all the way (you'll pass under this white painted wood "arch") to get the edge lookout, though there are many lookout points along the way that show the cove.

I come to Trinidad every year to visit family, but this is the first time I went on this trail. I didn’t know about it until recently. Flat, well kept and it has magnificent views everywhere. Take the spurs!

Wow, this is amazing!!

A great hike with amazing views. DO NOT go on this hike with the expectation of seeing the lighthouse unless you are there the first Saturday of the month. That is when they open the gate and access to the lighthouse is better.
