I did the full trail today. After the bench, it does get VERY overgrown, so much so that there are several moments you're unsure if you should keep going. But it was definitely worth it. There is a rock past the bench, to stand on you can see miles and miles in every direction. The heart thumping portion comes as you get closer to sea level though, and climbing back up was certainly a cardio workout (especially after I saw a snake and was hightailing it faster). If you have faith, you can find the trail after losing it every time, and the trail ultimately ends in a gorgeous rocky creek that winds all the way back to foothill road. Total time 3 hours.

The area is beautiful but if your looking for a heart thumping hike this is not it. The hike is super short even for a beginner. I wouldn't waste my time driving out to do this hike, look for another hike.

lost the trail completely after the bench. continued with our best guest, all trails map said we were on track, but the plants were so overgrown that the trail was completely invisible. ultimately turned back, miles before reaching the end of the trail as indicated on this map.

Nice Trail. I don't know why they have this listed as easy. It's actually moderate. Not a lot of shade on the trail and the south side of the loop trail is badly gutted from rain and it make biking difficult. There is a nice gazebo at the top that gives you a spectacular view of the Santa Barabara coastline all the way down to Ventura. Bring insect repellant. A lot of gnats were buzzing around my ears.
