This is a fun and easy hike with a beautiful view at the top

Good up hill test of stamina alot of switch backs but fun

Lots of poison oak on the sides of the trail. Pretty dry, and dusty. Not one I would want to hike on a hot day. Morning is probably the best. The view at the top is nice. Decent workout. It has a yellow jacket warning because of high activity. We were lucky not to have issues with them though. Don’t bring dogs without Lepto vaccine, lots of wood rat nests along the trail.

Fun, relatively easy trail. Good for a quick workout before or after work. Good views from the top with lots of blue oaks and other fine native flora throughout the trail. Moderately trafficked, so not the best choice if you're looking for solitude.

My husband and I try and do this hiking weekly. It a perfect early morning or evening weekday hike. Great showcase of California wildflowers!

Fun quick hike. Clean trail and nice informational signs about local plants and animals.

Awesome hike! Trail built well and maintained as well!

Really beautiful, well-maintained trail. Gorgeous view from the top. Really good incline to get the heart pumping. Love this beautiful hiking trail!

Beautiful hike! Great for everyday exercise :)

Nice views, no to bad of an incline

This trail is seasonal because you have to cross the creek. Be sure to double check their website to verify before you go. It is a very well-maintained trail dotted with charming bridges. The trail is mostly uphill with switchbacks. There is a gate near the top that expressly prohibits mountain bikes from reaching the summit. The summit affords a nice view of Atascadero.

The parking lot is difficult to find. There is another entrance that people are not encouraged to use. It is directly off of highway 41 just outside of Atascadero. Parking there requires that you cross the highway. At this entrance you will not hike the entire trail. I recommend starting at the trailhead.

Great trail. Very scenic. Parking is hard to locate though and not very many spots.

this is a beautiful and well maintained trail. plenty of gain for training purposes. excellent views too!

Great trail so well maintained. Finding the trail head is challenging. Take San Gabriel off Morro Road and follow trail signs.

Wow great hike. Very hard to find the trail head. Be sure you go off Carmelita avenue and not Morro Bay road. If you are off Morro Bay road there is a road before a bridge and if you have 4 wheel drive you can get to the trail. There is a parking lot and you will know you made it

Not moderately hiked. I saw one family, one lady with a dog, one group with two dogs, a mom and child, two teenagers and an old man about every 20 minutes. You can hear the highway through the trail.

Great for a dog walk

hurt my foot .

If you want to get out and do a hike but don’t have a lot of time, this is the one for you. It is well traveled which is nice if you are alone, but not so nice if you prefer having a quiet hike. There are a lot of dogs and plenty of big groups. There were also multiple families with small children. Overall, it is a fairly easy hike with pretty views of Atascadero and surrounding mountains.

A beautiful little Trail that was built with a lot of Loving Care! The inclines and switchbacks were very nicely done. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a lot of great Trail markers for vegetation and Wildlife.

Had. a good hike. lot of people.

The length and terrain and views of this trail are all great! The only drawback is that the path is slanted, I suppose for erosion prevention, but for long stretches, is slants to the side. My ankles and knees didn't like that. I don't normally have issues.

Great views all around! Our dogs enjoyed it too.

A little trouble finding the trail head, thank God for my son. Beautifully managed paths. Dusty, but well worth it. I recommend it

Nice wide and clean trails. Good for kids and dos!

Wonderful trail with great views.

Trailhead is off of San Gabriel Rd. Not the 41. Follow San Gabriel west off the 41, and there will be signs for the preserve that will lead you to the trailhead.

Although it's only 3.8 miles total, this beautiful hike covers the entire trail system in the new Three Bridges Oak Preserve. All trails are wide and well-graded, so the 700' of elevation gain is easier than you might expect. Junctions are clearly marked and there's no chance of getting lost. The Madrone Trail (open to hikers only) ends at a nice view point on the side of a hill. There is a crossing of Atascadero Creek near the beginning of the trail, but it was dry when we visited. Most of the trail is shaded and it's suitable for year-round use. You'll want to get an early start during the hot summer months.

Pretty fun and easy hike but finding it was tough! Where it is on Apple maps takes you too far to a parking lot with no start point! The trailhead is close to this address : 9930 Carmelita, Atascadero, 93422! If you park in the lot then the trailhead is super easy to find! 3.5 miles total from that starting point! Have fun!
