This is the shortest route to Magee Peak and nearby Crater Peak in the Thousand Lake Wilderness on the Lassen National Forest. It is an easy-to-follow trail to Magee Peak, and slightly higher Crater Peak. The trail begins in a ponderosa pine forest, and continuously climbs to the peak through trees, and the brush zone. There is occasional blow down, but it is easy to get around these trees. This trail meets another trail climbing out of the crater. This trail is accessed from the Cypress or the Tamarack trailheads and passes through the lake portion of the wilderness.Show more
