Beautiful spot, but much of the trail is under water and challenging to find pass arounds. The app really doesn't help much at all. Still, we enjoyed our day.

Beautiful hike! 10 miles in about 4 hours plus lunch at the lake.

Great trail, uphill and unshaded until the lakes so beware of that. Lakes are very pretty, though you have to get through some brush to get to more than the first one. Trails around the lakes were often wiped out by the winter weather or fallen trees, and you couldn’t see or find these trails easily. Big snow patches were still on the ground in early June when I did that trail.

Beautiful hike. There is a little bit of snow left and the wildflowers are still in bloom as you aapproach the summit. Poles may be helpful as you get to the top due to the loose gravel. Super windy at the top of the peak in the mornings; however, the views are amazing!

Climbed on 6/9/18. Trail has decent amount of water running down from the last bit of snow melt. At the second parking area ~1mi in, there’s packed snow on the trail for 1/3-1/2 mi. Pretty much clear to the summit after that.

I loved this trail. Started at the market in Iowa Hill, (Stevens Trail East). Stay to the right where the trail forks (about 100 yards from tail head) and you’ll stay in the shade the entire way to an absolutely BEAUTIFUL swimming hole at the end. Wear good boots, this isn’t a trail for tennis shoes or flip flops. *** Now I must pay tribute to PENNY, the local dog that literally was looking out for me the whole way. I saw a brown bear (50 yards away) on the way in and she kept her eye on it, as I did. The bear seemed uninterested and we went in opposite directions.. She chased away something, rustling in the brush, on the way out. She swam after a stick while at the swimming hole. She kept bringing it back for me to throw. We hung out about an hour there, and shared beef jerky, then hiked back. Loved this dog!!! She was truly a great little companion and guide, never getting too far ahead, always checking to make sure I was coming along.

This is a fantastic view of the lake! Accessible and well marked, this is a must for visitors to the north end of Lake Tahoe. Gorgeous views and really gives you a feel of the vastness of the lake.

Beautiful hike. Had a great time. But....bring insect repellent! Lots of mosquitoes, but still would do it again! I’d say easy to moderate. Well marked.

Still one if my favorite trails!! Just went yesterday and it was magnificent! Definitely extremely hot in the direct sunlight, so I'd encourage you to go earlier than later if you're sensitive to heat! The shaded areas are beautiful, green and cool! The water is low, but still swimmable! The trails are all clear and easily identifiable!

Busy trail, but definitely worth it.

Just tried to hike to this lake. The trailhead was hard to find because of no visible signs. 4 rattle snakes were spotted on the trail so we didn’t go as far back to the falls. We camped at the lake for two nights and that was nice. There is a nice little camp set up along the trail that we took advantage of.

Awesome hike! Pretty steep going up to the lakes, but a great workout. The lakes are beautiful! There were helicopters flying over head every few minutes too!

Great hike this morning to top of Martis Peak from Brockway Summit trailhead (just below heading towards KB). Gorgeous views on a gorgeous day.

Beautiful trail!

Kind of technical first mile ascent, but great afterwards. Went last week and there was still significant snow! It was awesome!

The top was super windy (50mph) to beware on windy days. There’s no coverage up there.

Use the utility road for the initial ascent. Beautiful view on the road up. We lost the trail once the road met the lift at the umbrella bar. We went straight but I think we should have gone to the right at that point. We turned around before the final summit climb because we saw a cougar cub and didn’t want to scare mama. If you follow the path on the map, your descent will be straight downhill on a black diamond ski run. Beautiful view but tough not the knees.

I would highly recommend doing this tail backwards for backpacking. If you do the hike in the direction shown you will have a very bland underwhelming second half of the hike as you are walking on fire roads rather than a trail. There were also far better campsites around mile 4 of the hike doing it forwards.

The trail wasn’t that bad to follow. It was a nice walk. The way back I got winded because it was more of constant uphill but a very nice hike

such a nice hike. great hike for the dog and the lake was amazing.

Great hike! Started the hike around 730 and was back at the parking lot a little after 10 with about 20 minute stop at the river.

Trees down and erosion at end prevented us from safely accessing the river.

Such a great hike for beginners! If you're looking for something easy and beautiful, this is a great option. We went in the middle of the day so there was not a lot of traffic due to the fact it was a bit hot. But the breeze kept it bearable and the reservoir at the end was beautiful! Also, I had read June was a great time to go because of the wildflowers and the nice full Creek from the snow run off

The hike was fairly easy. There were some hills that got me winded but nothing too strenuous. The trail itself was a little hard to navigate. There were a lot of forks leading different ways. I would highly recommend downloading the map before you go. It saved me a couple times! I went on a Thursday between 10-2 and I only saw two groups on the trail after me. The lake was beautiful and a perfect place to throw some sticks for my dog. (Lots of driftwood). I brought my fishing pole but didn’t catch anything. I wasn’t sure if there were fish in the lake. Overall a nice hike. ALTHOUGH I would probably avoid going on the weekends. The trails are narrow which could be frustrating if there is a lot of people/dogs.

Couldn’t find the site. Directions took us to a dead end on an isolated road.

I've been hiking this trail for 20 years and simply love it. It's great to run as well. Spectacular views at any time of the year and spring offers an abundant amount of wildflowers. Summers on this trail can be extremely warm though, so go early. The BLM needs to update the trail head sign to reflect the true mileage of about 7.25-7.50 miles round trip, not 9.

Awesome trail! I've never hiked the full 11 miles, but usually hike 8-9. Still a great time and enjoy hanging out at the river with friends.

Did round trip in steady three hours. Good workout.
