Super easy despite the air being thinner for us living in the lower elevations.
Gorgeous views. We went on a weekday so the trail wasn't too busy. We felt like we were on our own, but still plenty of people were out, spaced way out. The snow was great and still deep. We didn't need our snowshoes on the trail though; it was packed down. We did use them to go off trail. We didn't take the trail beyond the picnic table. It didn't look like many people did.

a good snowshoe trail (jan21) we only did half because it was relativly cold and I was worried about the pups feet (he was probably doing better than I was

Beautiful easy hike, great views and good for introducing snowshoeing as a fun activity.

We hiked the trail today. We loved it! Hiked with our dog, well-packed snow, easy to walk with just snowboots. Many people had snowshoes to go off the main snow-packed trail. Kids sledding, a few cross country skiers on side routes. Pretty busy today- gorgeous sunny day, but quite cold and gets windy at some turns - wear a hat!
Beautiful views of snowcovered mountains and canyon.

Did this last week and it was a very easy snowshoeing trip that provided amazing 360 views!

Awesome trail for beginner snowshoers like myself!

Only okay. The trail was a dirt road. But I saw many cool single tracks taking off that I am sure are worth doing. I just didn't want to get lost so I stuck with the boring app trail (road).

We will be back in spring! Don’t forget your goggles if you go in winter:) great hike for Thanksgiving Day, we brought snow shoes in with us. Great location, well marked, super wide trail :)

Well maintained trails but very poorly marked. I got lost several times. Maintenance workers helped me out and agreed that the summer trail markers are confusing. Lovely views over Tahoe Donner.

A nice easy walk, gives a different perspective than in winter. Fun.

Easy to find. Trails were nice -- amazing view and nice place to take a walk to.

great easy hike. went end of September. beautiful views. you walk past where the Donner party wintered. Makes you think

Nice flat trail. Partial shade, follow the blue dot. If you start in the parking lot of the Tahoe Donner cross country trail head, you round up to six miles+.

Walked with 3 kids (7, 6 and 3) 3 year old in ergo. Definitely dusty so plan on cleaning feet afterward! The view was worth the whining on the way up - the kids even agreed and were in much better spirits on the way back

Solid, mellow dirt running with only mild hills. 6am start and felt like I had the place to myself — the valley was gorgeous with the mist still hovering over the meadow. The main route around is a fire road, and there are several side single tracks for variety and exploration.

Easy trail with great overlook! Not much shade coverage so bring a hat and/or sunscreen. Plenty of parking with a port-o-potty and picnic area.

Loved the views on this easy walk! However, the rocky trail bothered our dogs paws and lack of much shade had them scrambling for each tree... Was only 80° out, but quite warm in the sun for them I guess! Would do again, but earlier in the morning and leave the pups at home!

Easy enough for my senior dog to join me. Beautiful views! Location of trail head is very accessible and the parking lot has some shade. Big bonus that other great trails cut off from this one.

Great trail with a beautiful overlook of Donner Lake!

Amazing view of Donner Lake!

Easy hike to a spectacular view of Donner Lake! Gradual incline through pretty wildflowers. Most of the trail was sun exposed, so a hat and sunblock are a good idea. Really great hike for kids. Ports potty available at the trailhead as well as doggie bags. Plenty of parking in the trailhead parking lot.

Nice hike. Lots of mountain bikers. The west end of the loop trail doesn't really exist, as the road is on private property. But Tahoe Donner created a trail that completes the loop. It cuts off about a mile from the full loop.

Love this loop!

beautiful views and an easy hike. don't forget the sunscreen.

Beautiful views. Well maintained trail. Late spring is the perfect season, not too hot. Most of the trail is exposed and the first part is a fire road, after the lookout point it goes to single track.

Easy trail up to a beautiful outlook of Donner Lake. My family took our two dogs and the absolutely loved it. It was a foggy day but still quite nice. Very easy to access if you live in Tahoe Donner. I could see myself using this as a running trail in the future

This was a Spontaneous hike but worth it for the views!

I go to this trail a few times a year and love it every time. My son and I went up today. It was snowy, but still a great hike with beautiful views. It's one of my favorites.
