Very low key and unknown trail unless a Glendora local

The Toyota Trail is an easy hike centered in the South Hills Wilderness Area, and short enough to take your dog on the trail after visiting the dog park at the base of the hill. But if you are inclined to hike a little further, it connects to the Walnut Trail, the Alosta Canyon Trail and the Bonnie Cove East Trail. Also, there are city maintained restrooms and drinking fountains near the trailhead.

Super confusing trail at times. So many different smaller trails running off each other. And be careful because I accidentally stumbled onto a homeless encampment up there. Lucky I wasn’t alone :/

**saw broken car window glass on floor so a break in occurred recently be careful and hide ur valuables!!!*** Easy to get to but hot and dry hike! Go early :)

Super confusing... got lost multiple times trying to follow the apps trail. Ended cutting it short cause I kept hitting dead ends. Not the nicest trail- lots of dry bush but there is good incline. Good local spot if you live nearby

Maybe I’m spoiled from NorCal hiking, or maybe it was the 95degree heat, the trash, smog, or the homeless people living all over the mountain, but I just could not enjoy this hike very much. Suppose it’s good if you want a quick workout and are not expecting much, the views on the last descent were nice.

Biked and hiked here. It is easy, beautiful, and quick.

Not to bad of a trail. Did it with my 4 year old son. We started on the west entrance to Bonnie cove trail. Good incline on some spots and also narrow. Wouldn't recommend strollers. You are next to the freeway so consider that as well for noise and scenic stuff.

nice little park that has two separate dog parks, one for big the other for little dogs like mine behind that are the hills with numerous trails to explore, pretty steep going up but they are short and you are rewarded with killer views on a clear day.

Love this trail!!!

Found this trails while taking my dog to the dog park near the trailhead. It has multiple trails you can explore, it over views the Azusa mountains and the near by mountains, the City of Glendora. My dogs love coming here and I love taking them.

Not stroller friendly. ...really steep and narrow on the west trail .. took the fire road up and west hill down. A lot of traffic and kind of sketchy. Not with kids

ugly place to hike to much dry bush.

Are you a dog lover? Do you enjoy scenic views? Interested in historic landmarks?

This trail has it all.

Although the hike itself is much like many other trails in the area. It does offer quiet a few things at the starting point. Which I have to say earned much appraisal.

You'll definitely get wonderful views of the Azusa mountains and surrounding skyline.

It starts at South Hills park, which includes parking, bathrooms, playground for your little screamers and a dog park for your furry friends. The park itself is well maintained.

Also at the start, there is a piece of history dating roughly around the 1800s, stands the Hamilton House. A farm like residence with orchards.

I went with my dog and felt rewarded at the end. There is a lot of ground squirrels. A few things that were unpleasant was the numerous nettles and bugs near the area. Bug spray is a must!

It felt more of a moderate hike, not hard at all. Love that it has several trails to choose from. Will definitely visit often.

The trails were pretty confusing because we didn't see the entrance on the left or right, we just went straight up the concrete path. Got lost halfway, took a lot of detours up to signal and water towers. Parking is free and it's not too crowded. The hike is right by the freeway; so not great for pictures/scenery. Recommend if you live within 20 minutes of it; other than that it's not worth the drive out.

Challenging trail. Well maintained.

Hiked up there 1-21. Lots of mud. I have never seen water up there until today. Nice little stream down south hills trail to the single track. This is a nice workout when you don't have time for a long hike. Right now it's wet but green and pretty so it's a good time to hike it.

This is great for a beginner like me. The right side is steeper than the left.

Really good hill, gonna burn your biscuits on the east side hill. You can connect to several trails once you get to the top. Trailhead is at the end of Bonnie Cove north of Gladstone. Park under freeway bridge or go past the gate and there is a maintained lot.

Great workout, several trail heads at the dog park that reads at Mauna Loa east of Glendora Ave. From easy to difficult. Favorite loop to do start at trail head just behind dog park pens take a right up to Wild Iris trail make another right onto Walnut trail which will take you to the fire road, go left and it'll loop back to the top of Wild Iris or you can press onto the other trails like Mustard or Toyon. All loop back to dog park.

The place to run and Hike is perfect, but can I just can't deal with owners who let their dogs with a leash, what's scary is that they bring 2 or 3 big dogs like pit bulls WITHOUT A LEASH!!!!! I have a knife, Im not taking chances, I come 3 times a week and I come with kids.

If I have to kill a dog to save my sons life so be it, when it all can be prevented by the owners having THEIR DOGS ON A LEASH.

Pretty nice short hike/walk. Not a lot of people. Has a few little other trails in between. Dry. Great views.

It can be a steep climb and a bit dry, but the view from the top is pretty nice!

I enjoy coming here weekly. It's close and has great vistas of the San Gabriel Valley and Mountains. The wildflowers are in bloom now and the sunsets are beautiful.

nice hike to do when you have little time

Friday, April 01, 2016

good casual trail hiking. some wide trails and then narrow into some shaded Canyon areas with some nice views of both sides of Glendora.

Tuesday, March 01, 2016

I did the small loop not much shade but a nice trail none the less. Went up the west side and down the east, the east side of the trail seems to have shade than the west in the AM. I will definitely be coming back to explore more of the trails that feed into this one.
