Amazing little piece of heaven on earth. My first time here and I was in awe the whole ride up. The wildflowers are in bloom and a glorious delight. Going back with family in a few days because they have to see this! I drove up late so didn’t have a chance to enjoy the hot tubs but the drive was worth it. Looking forward to hiking to Doris Lake next visit and spending the day there.

Two great meadow views on the way up, couple of small water crossings to add a little excitement. The view across the bathtub is worthy of screen saver status and gives a great sense of accomplishment when you reach it. Took 6 hours on the way up with my 3 children (6,10,12) made many stops to rest and have lunch. Took 2 hours on the way back. Wanted to stop longer but the mosquitos at that time of day (6-8pm) were getting obnoxious so couldn't pause for more than 10 seconds without getting swarmed.

Awesome trail! Beautiful lake! Was closer to 5.5 miles out, so 11 round trip. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent!

only a mile to falls after you drive 2 miles on dirt road from hwy 168 so 6 miles from hwy or two miles up and back from trailhead. Get with it All trails. You are way off!

Amazing views!

Huge trees , the breath taking waterfalls , the beautiful butterflies flying over me . Wonderful experience

Does anyone know where to go from the trail end? There are 3 roads to take, once completely covered in bees. Thanks!

Great access to get under the falls

Great hike, the trail had a couple of deadfalls to hike around. Last river crossing by the lake on the way in was higher than usual but no reason to get wet. I did not stop much on the way in because the skeeters were so bad. I applied Deet at the trailhead, all day, and into the night. I ran out of Deet the next morning so I jogged out early. Caught a Brookie on a frog popper.

The trail was great but my problem is that there are signs posted saying no trespassing on the entire trail and I am not interested in getting a ticket so I will not be taking my family back.

I really wanted to like this trail. 5 lakes in only 7 miles? What is there not to like? For starters, the road towards the trailhead. Rough road and at certain portions off road conditions. It is about 1.5 hours from Dinkey Creek Campground. Not recommended if you do not have a high clearance all wheel drive SUV. Secondly-- the actual trail. Poorly marked, not maintained at all and easy to lose the trail. You will experience a lot of bushwacking. Thanks to my downloaded map from Alltrails, we managed to find our destination, Island Lake. No switchback-- just straight up. The worse part? Mosquitoes. and lots of them. We had to cut our trip 1 day short because of it. But I have to say though it is really beautiful and if you want solitude, you will definitely have it here.

Wonderful trail. Took stock wrangler up. This trail is rated a 5 in difficulty in other books, which is the highest I go with stock.

I have spent many years doing trails in the Stanislaus and Sierra forest. This is a very fun trail. Gives you a little challenge along with great views ending with a nice destination point.

Easy hike. Dog friendly. Beautiful views!

Easy hike that is very kid friendly. Be warned - the vault toilet is vile, full of trash and marmot droppings. And bring your own toilet paper if you really want to use it.

Worth the hike. I only say this because there are some areas without shade on the trail and the dirt was too hot for my dog to walk on so I had to carry her during small sections. The lake was empty at the end of the trail. Beautiful views and nice beach with clear water. We saw no one on the trail which surprised me because it was beautiful.

First 20 minutes were brutal, tons of mosquitoes. It gets better though, hang in there. Try not to stop. Hobler lake is beautiful and very peaceful. Not too much to see on the way, most of the time you are walking trough forest with no view. But the forest itself is beautiful.

The drive up to the trailhead is gorgeous!

ITS A 12MILE HIKE!!!!

I did this trail today. i should have read further into this cause it is not a 7mile hike. According to my tracker i did nearly 12 to reach any water/river where i could actually touch the water while staying on the trail. This is also not maintained very well at all. I counter 8-10 spots where a tree had fallen or the brush have over grown on the trail. It is been a while too cause you can see where others made new paths going around. I wish i knew how to update the distance on this so people have a heads up. The half way on 6.8 is just a random spot on the trail w not much to see.

The trail was moderate on the left side of the river when ascending and difficult on the right side. The pools were fun to play in.

Just went up on Monday and the trail was beautiful. The last mile there were a significant amount of fallen trees blocking the trail so make sure you pay close attention and do not go off trail. The water level in the lake was pretty low, but still offered a beautiful sight. I would recommend it for the beauty, but not for the fishing.

Lots of fun for my first trip. Stock 2017 Toyota Tacoma. Had a couple hard spots because of clearance issues. But FUN!!

Nice 4x4 road with tight turns.

One day got down the trail and someone tried to take a Toyota Corolla automobile on the trail. It didn’t make it :)

Awesome trail, great views of the river. Trails was hard to find at times but, overall great little get away.

A short but fun hike for my family and our dogs. Be forewarned: the water is freezing!

A beautiful, easy trail for the whole family, young and old alike!

This trail was awesome. We parked at the base (not the lot inside) which made the hike a little over 4 Miles. The trail is well kept and easy to follow. Steady incline to the top but not too steep. The falls were beautiful! The weather was perfect. A little chilly when we got there by 9am but once you get moving, the coolness feels great. You don’t get wet from the falls, just a very little bit of mist.

We went up a couple of weeks ago, it was my first overnight backpacking trip in 30 years. The dirt road to the trailhead was really rutted up (doable in a Subaru Outback), but the trail was well worth it. We stayed at the middle lake and I caught two rainbows.
