Pretty difficult for even a 4x4 w/ 3" lift. Really glad we aired down before starting, parts of the trail are washed out and had alot of rocks some really deep (and scary) ruts. After 2 miles, came across a closed gate and had to turn around. We went into the sequoia foothills visitor center to ask about it, and was told it is a park ranger only trail. If this is really the case I wish there was sign at the start of the road.

Awesome place to go. Views are beautiful and road in has alot of places to stop and walk around. I've seen marmonts there at times. probably should have a truck or something with some ground clearance, trail can get a little rough at times.

Fun trail but should be rated more difficult for off roading. We had to stop and reverse about a mile in because of a deep 4 foot rut on one side and a drop off on the other. Will attempt again when we have someone else with us in case things go bad

how do I get gate access? or is it open during the seasons?

I want to see the trail last time my sons Arturo Sanchez and Nathan Mendoza and Carly went it was on

I love this park when my children were small this park is where i had the best memories which my kids value til this day times are hard so it I cant my children to see the trees rivers in winter I use to take to the snow and morro rock is beautiful delilah ...a trail wow.

Last minute addition to a day trip to Hume Lake, and well worth it! I took my (2) sons, ages 4 and 1.5, and it was pretty easy! Awesome views and friendly staff made this the highlight of the day! I drove up in a stock 2000 Land Cruiser with no issues.

Great trail to a beautiful fire lookout with a long, incredible history. Completed in my Subaru Outback, it's not too far out of the way, and best views in the park.

Easy climb good for kids

Great trail! I had the privilege to hike it in March of 2014. When hiking the trail, which had some pretty steep climbs on dirt paths, you're surrounded by beautiful and sweeping landscapes. As you summit the mountain and see the Fire Lookout the trees open up and you can see the surrounding ranges...it's a beautiful view. I hiked up to the lookout (it was closed because it wasn't in season) and the views from the staircase are AMAZING! Highly recommended for those who have little hiking experience but want a bit of a challenge.

There were some difficult climbs, but bypasses are available. Really fun trail with some beautiful views. Completed in FJ with 3" suspension lift and stock Jeep Rubicon.

Its a pretty great place to enjoy the country, especially around march and April when everything is blooming. I recently went there (june 20,2015) and everything is dry. Very dusty and the little river that runs along the road is dry. In regards to Delilah's lookout, its a beautiful place to visit. There is a ranger at the fire lookout. Some are pretty cool and some ask some annoying questions. (Ehh). If you decide to go there watch out for COWS and rattlesnakes!! I mean. You hear and see them almost every 25 feet.

Its pretty easy for high clearance veh. And hardy any mid or sand. If you get a chance hit the kings river from there and you'll enjoy the place even more.

We started from the turn off for Hume Lake 10 mile Drive Hwy 198 just south of the 180/198 junction and rode our dirt bike up and around to Buck Rock Lookout. I hike up to the lookout to enjoy the amazing view and visit with the ranger. We rode down to Big Meadows on the south side and rode out S1411 5 miles before retracting back to our truck. Lots of OHV trails and fire roads in the area. Pretty easy riding and beautiful scenery.

You have to be alert on this trail as this past winter had some harsh storms that caused trees to fall on a few different sections. There are ways around them, but you'll want to watch out for the tire marks or you'll end up pretty confused, and then have to back up a good distance. There are some technical spots, but I ran the trail with someone who had done it a few times before and it was no problem; we aired down before we started. You'll also want to take it easy and pay attention to where you're going because, even going slow and taking all the care I could, I got some rocks bumping my undercarriage. Overall the trail is really nice, has some awesome views, has a lot of shade, and plenty of places to pull over. On the downside, its a pretty popular trail and, while that's good if you're running solo and find yourself in need of help, it kind of sucks when you get stuck behind vehicles that don't really have any business on the trail and slow you down to a crawl.
