trail running

This is one of my favorite trails to run.

who really love of mother nature, this is the quite perfect and secure.

Hiked on 3/7, great route. Only encountered a couple other people, most of the route it feels like you've got the place to yourself. I suggest extending (only .2 mi!) to the vernal pools boardwalk. Opposed to what's said in one of the previous reviews, according to all the signage dogs are NOT allowed on this trail or on this side of the Reserve at all-- although you wouldn't know it due to the poo unfortunately left behind. Dogs are however allowed right across the street on the sylvan-meadows side. Not a whole lot of elevation gain overall, but there are some steeper/rocky spots, so not stroller friendly. Interesting seeing areas of charred grasses-- maybe controlled burns? Trail goes through grassy areas to rocky/wooded areas, a mix of both which is cool. Very well marked, super appreciated compared to other local trails. Love the versatility of the trails on the Plateau, allowing for adjusting your route to make shorter/longer as you wish. Maps available at parking lots. Keep in mind there is a day fee.

This trail was awesome! It definitely had it’s tough moments but it rewards you with its beautiful views and it’s open meadows. Don’t pass up on this trail.

A quick half loop to stretch our legs this afternoon. Started at the visitor center and talked with the friendly and helpful ranger then headed off to the trail for a beautiful hike. Looking forward to returning to the other trails here at Santa Rosa Plateau area.

$4 per person. Plenty of parking on a Sunday. Not a lot of people. Easy terrain. Went to the adobe and back.

Beautiful place, more of a walk hike, mostly easy.

Did this with a jogging stroller on the main trails and it was great, there was only one spot where we had to pick up the stroller and carry it over maybe like 20 feet of rocky terrain then back down.

The beginning was boring but towards the middle area was awesome with lots of trees and rock's. didn't like the fact that we had to pay to hike

great time ,kids loved it ,beautiful place that's local and easy for my 4 and 5 ur. old to walk

This is a beautiful hike with well maintained trails. A lot of interesting sights. No cell service though so don’t rely on your phone for a guide (our mistake).

It was definitely fun! Next time to the adobes!

on Adobe Loop Trail

Beautiful views, started out easy and became moderate, which ended up a perfect ending to a beautiful day. I went with a friend who had been on this trail many times. We got lost a little on the way back, but I assured her that if it got dark, I would sleep on one of the many benches, and eat her for dinner. We found the parking lot. Win Win!

Santa Rosa is my favorite local hiking destination

Dogs are actually allowed on this loop. Very nice trail, only the down side is there are too many dog poop on the trail.

Excellent trail. Hiked about 5 miles. Went to see the Adobes.

Just a little outing. Cool trail. Kids liked it.

Very easy, good for family/kids. There’s nice views of the mountains and just an all around beautiful place. Planning on returning in the spring.

This is a great place just to be outdoors. I always see some type of animal. Coyotes, deer, tarantulas, etc. No part of this place is difficult and I don't even really consider it a hike but the views are great and the visitor center is nice to visit.

Good hike, gradual climbs nothing severe, some rocky areas but not bad, good scenery. The only slight negative is so many back and forth winding trails but overall enjoyable hike.

Fun quick hike with a couple friends. The weather was cloudy and perfect.

Great trail, fees at entrance for use. We went during the summer so most of the water was dried up, we were bummed about that but still pretty.

Grassy meadows. Wildflowers in the spring.

Nice trail. We took our 4 year old and he was easily able to navigate. Did hear that the rattlers were already out. So keep your eyes opened. Looking forward to going back

Great trail. Wide and long. Beautiful scenery with awesome historic adobe and end of trail. Also have outdoor concerts in summer. Kid friendly. Diffinately will be back.

This was a perfect hike. Rolling hills and wildflowers. You can add less than a half mile to this route and see the vernal pool as well.

Fun little hike with nice scenery.

Nice easy hike if you don't have a lot of time.

Had lots of fun with the little ones, we even got to see a couple coyotes walking around. They walked away as soon as they saw us. Great trail and great views.
