Pretty and easy hike.

A special place. Not difficult but rewarding.

What a great easy to moderate hike. We missed the trailhead so we walked along the wash / sandy trail until we picked it up for the return. Beautiful spot. My 77 year old mother did it with me.

Great variety with part of the trail pretty flat through the palm oasis and then a more strenuous climb up the ridge flank to fine valley views.

You totally do not walk through a "dusty river bed". The previous person clearly chose the wrong trail. Furthermore there is no dusty river bed. It is a WASH. Quite different. Give this trail a try. It is well worth it. It is best to stay to the right when choosing a trail. Stay on an upward trajectory. This will keep you out of the WASH.

It’s a good hike but it’s definitely not well marked and you have to walk through a dusty river bed to get to the good part! I think I rather stick with Lykken Trail it’s more challenging and less dusty!

Just an all-around good trail and work out. Not easy but then again not strenuous. A good middle of the road trail with nice views and some elevation change. The first part on Palm Canyon Trail is pretty easy. The reward is on the Victor trail.

One of the easier trails to do. It doesn't climb too high. The beginning is a little confusing and not well marked as it gets washed out. it crosses the road before heading up the hill.

Very nice scenery! You do have to pay $9 Adults and $5 Youth as it's inside Agua Caliente Cahuilla Indian land. We went with our 11yr old and 8yr old and they loved it. They were able to handle the loop. Trails are easy to find and well marked.

Trail was difficult to find because no signs at all from the road. Finally had to use the map and park on side of road next to what looked like a trail. Despite being surrounded by private property, the path took us up to the trail. We ended up peeling off to the Shannon trail that took us up to the top with some great views. I recommend the trail but give yourself extra time to find it.

Beautiful views at the top. We connected to this trail from the Palm Canyon trail. Did not have much shade, but was worth it.

Inter-Trail Connector: the Shannon Trail

This short trail has no trailhead that is immediately accessible from the valley floor. Instead, one trailhead starts off the Henderson Trail about a quarter mile southwest of Araby Cove. The other trailhead starts off the Garstin Trail near an intersection with the Berns Trail, near the top of the lower hills.

The trail is of moderate difficulty, and it climbs relatively quickly through its 800 feet. A hiker has a very clear, fairly close view of the Bob Hope mansion and several other large residences that populate Southridge.

Spent Veterans Day 2012 hiking this trail with the family. The trail was well marked and in great condition. The views were nice but got even better as you climbed up the hill heading around the loop on the way back. Easy for all age groups and enjoyable for all skill levels!!
