Beautiful trail. Great for beginners. I started at coast to coast trail and totaled at 15 miles. Glad I did both trails.

Nice hike, part of the Coast to Crest Trail. I have now been able to complete the entire portion from the Coast to Lake Hodges.

This particular section of the hike was not overly challenging but enjoyable. I enjoyed the views especially of the Dam as you approach Lake Hodges.

Good hike, 1st leg of the Coast to Crest...not difficult since it is flat.

This hike is incredibly long. The first 5 miles are completely flat and take you through some farm land before you begin to climb a summit. Once reaching the top, you begin to go down hill again. I haven’t completed the entire trail, maybe 11-12 miles, but the views are beautiful and it’s best in spring as it’s very exposed during the summer months.

Pretty but more urban than we like, not escaping enough for our tastes and we prefer hiking. This is completely flat.

Looks like a work in progress here. The Alltrails map is a little wrong. Once you cross Jimmy Durante, the trail sticks close to the road. If you follow the app trail, it will take you approximately 800 feet to a dead end. Still kind of a good place to stop and watch the wildlife. Great trail for birding, we saw an Osprey and some Kestrels.

Nice easy lots of wildlife around and great views.

Perfect In January!

Took my 2 young kids and dogs on this flat trail around 2pm. Lots of freeway noise and auto odor the first 1/2 mile. But we did see some great wildlife: mullet jumping fish were cool, blue heron, lots of other birds and a caterpillar. We walked all the way out to the boardwalk near the fair grounds. Didn’t make it all the way to the beach because we stopped off at View Point brewery for drinks and a snack. Overall trail was good except for freeway noise and smell. Would do again off freeway hours and bring kids bikes.

Great views over the lake.

Super easy walk, very flat trail. Very quiet stroll on a Sunday morning, no one I️n sight, very few runners.
Did an out and back. Too bad trail doesn’t go around river. Saw some horses

Lake Hodges is beautiful the water levels are low. The trail is well maintained. There are plenty of trees and shade. My concern is this Trail is very close to the road and you can always hear the cars. We did see a few bikers and a few other groups of hikers on a Friday morning.

Beautiful easy flat trail, great to kid our 5yr old riding his bike on a trail.

Make sure there is not a bike race on the day you want to go walk the trail.

A very scenic trek that takes you under the 5 freeway so see the lagoon and to the coast of Del Mar. You wouldn't think anything lived in the water but we were able to see fishes and even a string ray! Great for a walk, run, wide enough for strollers. Trail was really flat.

Easy mostly paved trail. The I-15 traffic is loud but there are lots of birds chirping and frogs croaking. Very scenic.

Nice trail

Bridge right over the water. Very scenic and beautiful. Easy walk and great for cyclists too.

Trail is closed due to construction near the fair. Still a nice (but short) outing. Enjoyed the birds and spring flowers.

I enjoyed. I saw many kinds of birds and flowers on the way.

Easy trail with great views of lake and dam. A handful of mountain bikers were on the trail on a Sunday afternoon in December.

Nice Morning Casual Walk

I've had Arthroscopic surgery of my left knee and I may need another one, but this walk was very easy for me to handle and the views were amazing.

This trail was a good trail. We decided to do the loop twice (unintentionally) before finding our way back to the bridge and heading back to the doc. There are approximate 4 trails in one so it's easy to do a few extra miles more than what you initially intend to do, but definitely worth it.... wear comfortable shoes and bring lots of water, if you take your dog out there please ensure you have plenty of water....

Very pretty, had fun...explored the bottom of the dam with the graffiti all the way inside and climbed up the side..don't do it,it's frowned upon I guess. There was a rent a cop that I didn't even notice in an ordinary car that I thought had been just chillin for the longest time. He was nice though,he didn't know how we got up there cause he didn't see us but that's bc we climbed up the side. Maybe it's common sense that you're not supposed to do that but eh...

Easy walk, nothing spectacular. We took little kids for about a mile section of the trail west of the dam. No shade.
