Nice views but, boring. Nice chair lift ride.

not for the faint of heart! steep but short, gorgeous views from the top!

This trail is pretty hard going up. Park in the Snow Summit lot and find the trail map. The trail starts to the left of the main mountain bike runs. The trail is very well marked once you get started.

Not an “easy” hike as described. Uphill all the way with a restaurant at the summit. If you are too tired or want some spectacular views of Big Bear. Lake, you can ride the char lifts down.

Hiked the trail starting at about 830. There's a small dirt parking lot at the end of the pavement, however, my friend and I parked at the ski resort. The majority of the route is a dirt road, with a deviation onto a well worn bike path, before returning to the dirt road for the last leg to the top. We had to step into the brush every so often to make room for trucks coming up and down the road. Headphones NOT recommended due to bicycle and vehicle traffic during the hike, keep your ears open. There is a restaurant at the top of the hill, the Skyline Taphouse. It was nice to have a midpoint to stop and have a beer and a bite to eat, but I would check their hours if that's your plan, and prepare to pay an inflated price. It is a solid incline the whole way, but not quite something I would say is "moderate", as the description states. The small blue spots are not lakes, just big pits, and are fenced off. Perhaps this changes during the winter. Overall, a solid well-marked and well-maintained path. Smells good too.

Beautiful hike. not very tough but not too easy. Didn't see any other hikers and I went on a Saturday. Saw several Mtn bikers though and 1 guy on a dirt bike.

It was beautiful - as Big Bear always is but follows a dirt road entire time so if you’re looking for a small trail in the forest, this isn’t it. But worth exploring!

The trail definitely crosses the ski slopes a couple of times, so be aware of that! Besides that it was a great hike, easy to follow, with great views.

Nice moderately challenging hike slow uphill great views., defiantly worth it

Nice hike...went early on a Wednesday morning and didn't see another soul the whole way up or back. Great views of San Gorgonio Mountain on one side and Big Bear Valley and distant desert on the other.

I would definitely not call this an easy hike. Trail was well marked, quit steep just about all the way up, however, levels out at the top. Nod that I would call easy, Great junction to other trail at the top. Nice place at the top for lunch. I definitely recommend this hike to others. Make sure to bring plenty of water and pace yourself. I took this hike at the end of August and would recommend you start early due to the exposure of the sun first thing in the morning.

This is a great trail. It is steep and we climbed in August so it was a good work out. (I would not describe it as easy!) we rode the chair lift down. Great views from halfway up and at the top.

The feeling of City nearby persists, but nature eventually wins

Great hike just before the mountain biking season, full access to the mountain, no need to stick to trail. Was very foggy at the top, make sure to take gear for all weather.

Interesting to hike around the chair lifts. Going up in tennis shoes was fine but coming down it was slippery.

Beautiful hike, steep in places. Nice and private, we only saw a few other hikers on the trail. We hiked the Log Chute trail to the top and enjoyed a great lunch and view.

Perfect summer hike from base to the top of the trail where you can treat yourself to refreshments and bbq at View Haus for having completed the uphill climb. The hiking trail surprised me as steeper than expected, especially in certain spots. It was fairly dusty and hot (August weather). I couldn't find anything that actually marked the true distance, but approx 3 miles total out and back is my guess. Just jog around the base a bit or to the resort directly from wherever you're staying in the area if you want to make it a longer distance workout.

I love Big Bear. The skiing is not the greatest, but the whole atmosphere of Big Bear makes up for any shortfalls.
