5 stars if hard is what you are looking for. JKU 2.5 lift 33 inch tires rear locker only. Destroyed my steering damper but no other damage. Never got stuck. but was pretty challenging. Big group took 6 hours. Don't solo it.

Stumbled upon this trail while trying to get to big bear in the middle of the night. Gps routed me through here as a shortcut due to the highway being closed. Craziest experience I've had in a long time. Offroading in the dark in the middle of winter. Great view of the lights at night though. I'll have to drive this trail in the daytime sometime. Try to enjoy the scenery.

Great trail , have Lockers

Absolutely, find your lines
Been running this trail for years , on 35’s
If your a novice stay away from the waterfall sections they will send you on your side if you take the wrong line. . Have fun
And keep the trail clean for future generations of off-roaders.

Great trail run I took my Ford F-250 through there was very fun there even was like a little river running thru there .

We started at 2N06X, still very challenging....

Difficult for a stock jeep. There are really only 2 difficult sections though with lost of smooth areas in between. Description says hardcore, but that's getting quite carried away. Did this trail on a unlocked tj on 29" tires. Wasn't easy, but made it fun. Also have done it locked on 42s and I blasted right through it.

This is a great drive for scenic views. Sometimes it gets a lot of traffic.

Take your time hiking this trail. Elevation is high.

Only done bits and pieces, never in its entirety. The sections I have done are lovely however and offer wonderful panoramic views to anyone willing to trek up the trail. One of my favorite sections to hike is the Acorn Trail portion along the Blue Ridge. Great views of both the Mojave Desert and the cities when the weather permits. Plenty of places to camp and even has a ski resort you can meander through.

Too many clouds to see the valley.... Nevertheless great view !!!

4WD high clearance absolutely required. There are some tricky spots - better walk your lines before you run them. Super fun in our 97 TJ with a long arm lift.

what a wonderful drive ... doing 40 feels like 100. you can do your own version of Fast Furious: Tokyo Drift the entire 80 miles.

do go slow in the small towns and remember to buy local.

the views are just breath taking ...truly unique.

Love this trail! It's a Big Bear classic

Beautiful. Get the tunes on, give it some revs and enjoy the views.

always a pleasure to hike! Thank you Finn,Julie and Jamie for the great father's day hike!

Not a trail, just a highway with lots of turnouts with beautiful views. I actually got proposed to last July in one of them ;)

All you need is music and tea, beautiful drive!

If you're looking for seclusion, this is it! Really great views, and you don't have to go far to see them. If you're hiking, be mindful that there is almost zero shade, so bring lots of water!

Great trail. Really dusty going up. Snow at the top was a nice surprise. Going back down was rutted up from people going through when really muddy. Nice, easy trail. Nothing crazy. Picnic tables, fire rings and restrooms at top. Great camping spots. Well worth the drive

Very fun trail. I actually did it with a fully stock Jeep rubicon a few years back and then again with a lifted rubi on 33s. When i first did it, it wasn't easy and i did use a spotter a few times. But definitely a blast. The hardest part was the second rocky hill. Have to pick your lines and be willing to take some scrapes if you dont do it right. The second time was easier but still a blast.

We stoped here for a short hike in December. Awesome trail, lots of fun for kids and dogs.

We were taking a detour to Lake Arrowhead because the trail was closed to Green Valley Lake. Difficult in my Jeep and got to a point (Massive boulder hell) where I had to turn around near the end. definitely would have benefited with lockers..or bigger balls

easy and good views

A good trail to the ridgetop campground and Thomas Mt. Road. It's about 2.5 miles from here to Thomas Mt. along the road for a total of 10 round trip. There are signs on Hwy 74 indicating the Thomas Mt. Trail.

The location shown on the app is spot on, easy to find/follow signs from hwy 74 to the trailhead. It's more of a dirt road than a trail all the way up. We parked at the gate where the pavement ends and hiked to the top of the ridge where the power lines cross the trail. We didn't find any way to "loop" back, but from the trailhead to the top of the ridge and back was about 3 miles. Great views of Anza, smooth path, will do again!!

rain and snow washed away dirt and the rock is all exposed with heavy rutted spots.

We used to go up to Big Bear when I was a teenager living in San Pedro. I never tired of this incredible drive. Although they have made some improvements to the road, the spectacular views are still there.
