Did this trail yesterday in my stock 4runner trd off road. Definitely download the map if your not familiar with the area, i took an off shoot of the trail and ended up on on of the more difficult trail sections with huge rocks to climb over needed up having to turn around and go the right way so be careful! Only saw 2 other people on the trail. Started in pioneer town then went to big bear.

Great trail. Some minor challenges without lockers in a lifted 17’ JKU with 35” tires. Really only would have engaged them once but a little bump and we were up and over.

Great trail completed in a stock JK Rubicon. Added difficulty is you take loop 2N70Y as this section has 7 - 10 steep rocky obstacles. The main road 2N02 was easily navigated. Beautiful Joshua trees transitioning into pines. Would highly recommend this trail.

Hiking past the locked gate up to Toro Peak is trespassing onto Santa Rosa Indian Reservation Land. It is clearly marked on the gate. Please have some respect for Native Americans. You can hike up Toro Peak West and North without trespassing.

This trail was awesome!

Pretty good trail. Do all a favor, take trash bags. In the beginning you’ll see shooting areas and dirty areas. Past this, once you start climbing it’s worth it. Any areas you see trash, help keep clean. Most trail is 2wd friendly, locker recommended or 4x if it’s raining . 4x was needed in maybe 2-3 spots. Would do it again no question asked

5 stars if hard is what you are looking for. JKU 2.5 lift 33 inch tires rear locker only. Destroyed my steering damper but no other damage. Never got stuck. but was pretty challenging. Big group took 6 hours. Don't solo it.

This is a fun trail to be on. There a lot of off shoots to practice and learn how to off road but if you are not comfortable with that, then take the main trail. I did the trail in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with open diffs and the car handled the trail effortlessly. Also on the weekends the trail is kind of crowed so bear in mind that you may get stuck behind a group that takes up the whole trail.

Amazing views!! road is currently blocked so looking at around a 6-7 mile hike up then back down. Not for the faint hearted but absolutely worth it! incredible views and got it all to ourselves it was perfect.

Great Trail! Went up in a 2wd Taco, there are some pretty big ruts from the rain but they are pretty easily maneuverable. Further up the trail it gets pretty rocky so be sure to take it slow, especially if you don’t have a skid plate. It gets somewhat narrow so I did get scratched up a bit. :)

Honestly this is one of my favorite hikes around Big Bear. Went up yesterday, about 10 miles. Parked at the blocked gate at the end of Rim of the World rd for free. Beautiful views, well maintained fire lookout. Chilly and windy up top but SO worth the view! Still some snow on the trail but won’t last long.

Ran this trail in stock height Tacoma TRD 4x4OH and Chevy Colorado Z71 out and back starting at Pioneertown. What a fun trail this was! Beautiful views to go along with a trail that takes you through sand, rocks, ups, downs, and all arounds! I firmly believe this trail is a 3 due to the frequent sections of rocks and ruts. Never had to get out and spot and never had any issues with clearance for being in stock height trucks, but did have maybe one or 2 sections that initially looked a little sketchy. Just for fun, we did the trail back from Big Bear to Pioneertown in 2wd drive and never even struggled. Sure it wasn't the easiest or smoothest ride, but it was very manageable if you know what you're doing and have sufficient clearance; just be careful of the narrow roads and cliffs! Also, don't forget to stop by historical Pappy & Harriet's for a beer before heading back home. Check out the video for footage of our entire run up to Big Bear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ3oGErYgsE

this is a really great Trail perfect for beginner off-roaders like myself. Unfortunately because of the recent rains about a quarter of a mile into the trail there are several foot wide gashes that extend the width of the trail. my stock 4Runner was not able to continue past that point but I could easily see how if it weren't for those obstacles this would be a great beginner Trail. I plan on coming back once those obstacles are no longer there.

Great trail , have Lockers

Absolutely, find your lines
Been running this trail for years , on 35’s
If your a novice stay away from the waterfall sections they will send you on your side if you take the wrong line. . Have fun
And keep the trail clean for future generations of off-roaders.

Great trail run I took my Ford F-250 through there was very fun there even was like a little river running thru there .

I should have known that less than a week after a week or so of rain, this trail would not be "easy". 2018 FX4 leveled, I needed 4low and locker, just to turn around after less than 2 miles ... we helped a rubicon and an FJ dig out some ruts so they could continue... Maybe in a few weeks after others and the side by sides level the trail out, we will try again. Tread lightly. Peace.

We started at 2N06X, still very challenging....

Great way to get up to the Big Bear Lake area (Fawnskin). Very easy trail, but connects to an abundance of more difficult trails the closer you get to Fawnskin. There was some snow on the sides of the trail, which made for nice mud puddles.

This place haves amazing views 5 stars for that, people go and shoot there guns at that trail and there drinking and shooting
And there not responsible people most of them are early 20’S and they never pick up there trash, there’s beer and left overs
Of the shooting all over. In top of that we observed a group shooting from the top part of the trail and bullets were fire literally in to open air
I will not recommend this place to anyone period

Difficult for a stock jeep. There are really only 2 difficult sections though with lost of smooth areas in between. Description says hardcore, but that's getting quite carried away. Did this trail on a unlocked tj on 29" tires. Wasn't easy, but made it fun. Also have done it locked on 42s and I blasted right through it.

Great trail, started in the dessert and ended in the snow, dogs definitely on leash, 3 jeeps one of them stock, made it through just fine, if it's the 1st time your doing it you WILL DEFINITELY need to download map or you could miss a turn or make a wrong turn and end up in god knows where. I rate this EASY it's mostly just dirt, but you do find a little bit of small rocks nothing a little bit of ground clearance can't take. Definitely would do it again. Super Fun!

I did this trail on 3/6/18. I would rate this trail as moderate or advanced beginner just due to the steep narrow rocky incline. This was my first off roading experience. The views are amazing.
