road biking

I did some biking at Coyote Hills earlier in the day and then biked across the Dumbarton Bridge to Ravenswood Open Preserve. The trail starts at Cooley Landing, where they just opened an education center. You cross a bridge and follow a trail north and then east until you reach an observation platform.

There is funding in place to connect the northern section of this trail to University Avenue, filling a .6 mile gap in the bay trail. This will be a nice improvement as I had to bike through East Palo Alto to get to Cooley Landing, which wasn't ideal.

There is also a trail that extends south from the Dumbarton bridge, but these trails do not connect. They are separated by the Hetch Hetchy Pipeline and a defunct rail road track.
