Good, scenic trail. Good views of the lake. Last 1.0 miles is a nice little climb into the shaded, Cottle rest stop. Lots of sun at the beginning and end.

Great short hike! Very sunblasted so bring sunscreen. Would not recommend for the middle of the day.

The Rancho San Vicente area of Calero County Park in San Jose, CA officially opened its trails to the public this week after 5 years of planning and trail building. Spring is the prime time to hike here, as the wildflowers are spectacular. And there are always great views of Mt Umunhum and Calero Reservoir.
