Just a pretty little stroll through the woods, easy and the farm is such a COOL place to take your kids, especially in the Spring. All the baby animals are out and they are so fun to watch. If you have kiddies, grab a pack and some snacks and take them here. Leave no trace, please!

The PGE trail is a service road, not a trail, so be prepared for steep, exposed, and not real fun, but some good views. The high meadow trail is beautiful, definitely will do again. This loop is hot and exposed, bring plenty of water. Was so disappointed to see lots of food litter on the trail. Leave no trace, please!!

The Black Mountain peak was closed - thank you Mr and Mrs Lions - but it was still a great outdoors to take Rhus Ridge to Black Mountain Trail to Rogue Valley Trail all the way to San Antonio and back. About 12 miles out and back with small amount of elevation change leading to under 20 minute pace (and walk by Deer Hollow Park). Start early.

parking is really bad. get there early!!

It’s a very beautiful hike. This hike has elevation change upto 2000ft. There might be wild life on the way to hike, turkeys , deer etc.

Might be a little tough on a hot day. Take plenty of water.

Nice moderate hike with lots of interesting wild flowers along the way. Scenic view of the valley. The Deer Hollow Farm at the end was a nice touch with all the baby goats and sheeps. Overall, great hike for family!

Sweet trail. You should go counterclockwise and definitely don’t skip going to the top of black mountain.

Excellent hike, to the top of Black Mountain about 12 miles..steep at some points, very good workout to get ur endurance up...well worth it to reach the top, the view is amazing.

I love this trail — especially the animals, including my hiking buddy.

Very nice views and lot of trail options

I'm visiting from WA, and decided to check out this trail today.

Trail is super well-maintained, and there are pretty cool views of Silicon Valley and Black Mountain (and some surrounding ridges) along the way. The end of Black Mountain Trail (a radio tower) doesn't have amazing views, but it's a great hike overall. The hike itself starts out a bit steep, but becomes a gradual climb and is quite steady in its climb until the very end, where it's steep again.

Made it to the top in about 1:45. I didn't drive there (took a Lyft), but the parking lot was completely full by the time I descended.

Decent hike but it was quite dry when I did it and not much shade. Only went out and back on PG&E and turned back at the peak. Pretty tough hike with a 6 month old.

The farm was the best part!

Beautiful walk

Trail is good and lot of people will be hiking during weekends. I have been to this place twice and it’s worth to hike.

new years day hike

The Wildcat loop takes you into a pretty ravine with a babbling brook, then leads you to Deer Hollow farm with pigs and goats. It is aptly named, as five young deer were grazing right by the trail with no concern about humans. Nice hike.

Perfect for 2 hr hike

Relative flat trail to enjoy nature with deers roaming, woodpeckers chipping and wild turkeys!

Amazing views of nature, wildlife, and even a small farm.

Plenty of parking with water fountains throughout trails.

Starting from the main parking lot it’s a fun 7.1 mile run. It begins with a mile of flat for warmup and then progress into a 2 1/2 mile climb to the top. Once at the top you have 3 miles of Technicial down hill through a mostly shade trail to deer hollow. And them finishing in the parking lot.

lots of up and down. tiring but worth the effort

Great hike! Lots of great scenery and trees. I would do it again.

This is not a really hard trail. Trails from hidden village to Black Mountain are marked as moderate and easy in AllTrails.com. Only a few parts of the trail is steep and the remaining is moderate. There are several local runners train on this trail. I and my friend finish in 3 hour and 15 minutes without running. If the weather is clean, you can see SF from the trail near to summit.

Make sure you get to the parking early. It fills up very fast

Shaded in some parts. Nice view of the bay and valley.
