Completed within 3 hours. Many zigzags and wildflowers! An enjoyable and energizing trail.

Great hike with a good amount of shade. Lots of up and down slopes which provides a substantial work out. Relatively popular but not overly crowded. Parking is a challenge so do beware.

Great hike, done it 2 weekends in a row! We continue 2 miles up (4 miles extra) to Black Mountain peak.

I run a shorter loop of this trail. It’s 5 miles and I love the way it flows. The view from the top is incredible.

Amazing wildlife! This particular loop is one of the more strenuous hikes at Rancho San Antonio, but it’s well worth the effort. Some of the trail sections are steep, but at no point is scrambling necessary. Pack lots of water and plan for between 6-7 hours to finish the trail if you aren’t a crazy speed-hiker. There is a nice bench at the top of the trail where you can enjoy views and a lunch.

Excellent trail for moderate hiking. Signs are a bit confusing so make sure to keep a close watch on the signs.

The trail was beautiful and it was nice for a Sabbath walk/hike. The hikes/walks are different from the hikes I like to do on any other day of the week. I actually slow down on Sabbath. It was my first time there, I will go back. The farm was a cute unexpected surprise on the walk. ☺
The advice I can give is, go early it was hard to find parking, it was full.

An amazing trail, but not recommended for new hikers based on the elevation gain. Make sure you hike all the way up and take a left on Montebello Road to get to the rocky area. Enjoy :)

Very good hike heights, love it

Just a pretty little stroll through the woods, easy and the farm is such a COOL place to take your kids, especially in the Spring. All the baby animals are out and they are so fun to watch. If you have kiddies, grab a pack and some snacks and take them here. Leave no trace, please!

The Black Mountain peak was closed - thank you Mr and Mrs Lions - but it was still a great outdoors to take Rhus Ridge to Black Mountain Trail to Rogue Valley Trail all the way to San Antonio and back. About 12 miles out and back with small amount of elevation change leading to under 20 minute pace (and walk by Deer Hollow Park). Start early.

parking is really bad. get there early!!

It’s a very beautiful hike. This hike has elevation change upto 2000ft. There might be wild life on the way to hike, turkeys , deer etc.

Might be a little tough on a hot day. Take plenty of water.

Sweet trail. You should go counterclockwise and definitely don’t skip going to the top of black mountain.

Excellent hike, to the top of Black Mountain about 12 miles..steep at some points, very good workout to get ur endurance up...well worth it to reach the top, the view is amazing.

Very nice views and lot of trail options

I'm visiting from WA, and decided to check out this trail today.

Trail is super well-maintained, and there are pretty cool views of Silicon Valley and Black Mountain (and some surrounding ridges) along the way. The end of Black Mountain Trail (a radio tower) doesn't have amazing views, but it's a great hike overall. The hike itself starts out a bit steep, but becomes a gradual climb and is quite steady in its climb until the very end, where it's steep again.

Made it to the top in about 1:45. I didn't drive there (took a Lyft), but the parking lot was completely full by the time I descended.

The farm was the best part!

Beautiful walk

Starting from the main parking lot it’s a fun 7.1 mile run. It begins with a mile of flat for warmup and then progress into a 2 1/2 mile climb to the top. Once at the top you have 3 miles of Technicial down hill through a mostly shade trail to deer hollow. And them finishing in the parking lot.

This is not a really hard trail. Trails from hidden village to Black Mountain are marked as moderate and easy in AllTrails.com. Only a few parts of the trail is steep and the remaining is moderate. There are several local runners train on this trail. I and my friend finish in 3 hour and 15 minutes without running. If the weather is clean, you can see SF from the trail near to summit.

very nice at the first half, but less shady at the second half. The farm is interesting, but quiet stinky.

Fun casual hike with family. Our 2 year olds both did this hike many times with little whining.

Did this hike 9-24-17. The path is mostly shaded with oaks, fragrant bays, and a few Madrones. The trail gains the elevation, but is evenly graded, with few steps or rocky areas. The views are great in sections along the trail, of the South Bay, and even SF and Oakland in the distance. The view at the very top was not as great as I was hoping for.

Parking was limited, I was lucky someone was leaving when I got there. No water and no bathrooms, so be prepared.

This was a great hike! Not too strenuous until going up quarry trail. Felt a little afraid since we didn't run into anyone but the view is beautiful!

Solid hike - maybe 3.5 stars. Easy to find however really surprised how busy the hike was at 7am on a Sunday. Two different parking lots and still hard to find a spot. If you like to be alone in nature - skip this one. Elevation not hard - except between mile 3 and 4 but not steep just constant. Views on the first half of the hike are OK. Back end of the hike is much pretty. Ton of wild life and none of it runs away, hence all the people
