Probably my favorite trail in the South Bay. A true hidden gem. Lightly traveled (we've done the loop without seeing a sole), and the views are stunning. First mile+ is a bit of a climb but once on top you hike along a ridge line that provides views in multiple directions. No traffic noise, no people, you feel as if you're alone in the wilderness. Just awesome. Once you drop down into the canyon (end of mile 2) you're treated with a beautiful seasonal stream with large granite looking boulders akin to what you'd see in a low elevation sierra stream. Final mile is practically flat and really enjoyable. If not for the first mile of climbing this trail is EASY.

Very nice hike! It was really hot so it was a bit challenging but worth it. There are trees here and there letting you breath in the shadow. We saw birds, butterflies and a vulture.

clockwise - nice incline right off the bat with great views of the surrounding hills. Ends with about 1.5 miles of flat. Nice in winter and spring, not sure if the summer would be so nice as the hills would be all brown by then. Partially shady

Great trail with combination steep then less steep type terrain and lots of trees. I have been there just three times in the spring and each time saw many species of wild flowers. Saw a small Ringed Neck Snake and and a Rattlesnake that was about 26” long. It gets natural cooling along the short creek section and has more shaded areas than most trails in south county.

Moderate hiking trail with elevation ~ 1,860 feet, one will gain 2,436 feet after complete this hike, 9.35 Miles. Commanding views from Bald Peak top with lot of wild flowers along the trail, and not a busy trail.

Moderate hike, gain ~1600 feet elevation, 8.2 Miles, many beautiful wild flowers along the way up to Bald Peak. Breathtaking views when you are at top. Bring at least 2 litters of water and lunch/snacks. Nice, clean trail with some shades.
