The presidio was an army post for over 200 years. Today many tourists visit the military buildings to explore the architecture, national cometary, airfield, forests, or neighboring beaches. Just a quick walk from the Golden Gate Bridge it is a great addition to any day out in San Francisco.

Deviated a bit from the trail to add inspiration point since it was so close. A bit hilly for about 2/3 of the trail. Beautiful views of trees esp lovers lane. Great afternoon hike!

Loved it....continued along bakers beach and got as close to the bridge as we were able. Awesome views.

Didn’t hike much of it but it was like being in an army base

beautiful space to relax and get out of the house

This is more of a historic walk than a hike.

I am not into distance running, yet I am way into running elevation/short bursts/steps and I can say that the two sets of steps here, which provide access to Marshall's Beach and Baker Beach, are both excellent for training. Whether you want it slow and low (aerobic) or hard and disgusting (anaerobic) you can make that happen here.

Iconic. Legendary. A must see.

I had a very good time. Enjoyed the nature very relaxing and the best part is that I could take my dog.

Great beach and bluff exploring with great views of the Bridge. Overnight camping a The Presido Rob Hill Campground

Great run. First time I’ve gone running in forever, but was able to run/jog about 60% and walked the other 40%. In all it took me about 45 minutes. Definitely a challenging run with elevation changes, but also really nice scenery. I’ll for sure do this trail again in the near future.

Really close to road and loud traffic. Beautiful ocean scenery though.

We loved the trail, the views were breathless and it wasn’t full of tourists. Plus it was mildly challenging and there was a bathroom at baker beach, made it a nice pit stop.

Difficult to beat for a city walk!

Good walk by the shore. Can take nice pictures with Golden gate on the back drop.

Born next to this one at Letterman

Love this trail a lot! Less people breathtaking views good exercise!

Fairly easy hike. There is other interconnecting trails, some that go across the Golden Gate bridge, The Presidio, etc. This coastal one has views of the GG bridge pretty much at any spot of the trail. There's area of quite a bit of steps. You can go down and walk along the beach, Marshall's Beach (There's some nudist) and also Baker Beach. My group kept on going through Seacliff area, to Lands End Labyrinth, and ended at Sutro Bath ruins to catch a beautiful sunset. This was first time, but can't wait til next one!

beautiful trail

No pictures can really do the Golden Gate Bridge justice. Standing on top and looking down is an immense feeling. Toss something off the side and count the second until it reaches the bay.

It's a little hard to figure out exactly where in the presidio this trail is, use the map carefully and it will be great! Expect some steep uphill, but overall pretty easy and relaxing. A good change of scenery and my favorite - view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Nice, easy hike in a great urban environment. Thank you to the Presidio Trust for saving this gem from commercial development.

This was an amazing little hike/jog.... Had the best time and the scenery was beautiful...

Mostly paved, along roads. Starts strong, with views and wooded paths, but peters out quickly.

Great quick trail. However part of the path is closed due to storm damage. Instead of completing a loop we had to go down and out on the same trail.

Ok hike. Short & sweet

Love this trail
