Point Mugu State Park in the Santa Monica Mountains is a great way to experience the west coast and the Pacific Ocean. The park features five miles of ocean shoreline, where you can find unforgettable hikes along wildflower dotted rocky bluffs, kick off your shoes on sandy beaches, run down sand dunes, and hike up river canyons and valleys. The park offers over 70 miles of hiking trails. There are also opportunities for swimming and body surfing. The Day Use Annual Pass is accepted at this park. Sycamore Cove & Mugu Beach parking lots open at 8am and close at sunset. Sycamore Canyon & Thornhill Broome campground gates open at 8am and close at 10pm. No entry after 10pm.

Great trail with amazing view most especially at the peak. Definitely one of my favorite trails.

Great hike and the views are incredible. Definitely check the wind conditions before you drive out here. The wind was very strong while we hiked, which was okay for us adults but would have been too strong for kids.

What a great hike! Gorgeous ocean views. Trail is well marked, nearly impossible to get lost. Parking is easy. No shade.

Went hiking with my wife, a buddy & my husky and found that the grotto was great location for first time hikers. It was a bit windy and we got there early to beat that samo traffic (arrived @840am). Road to ranch is a bit windy and you’ll need to be mindful the cyclist’. Will be going again soon!
