Oyster Bay Regional Shoreline has a long history. The bay waters here once hosted a vibrant oyster farming industry as early as 1890. Later the site became a municipal landfill for 37 years. It was sealed and capped with clay after reaching capacity and has been the subject of careful restoration since then. Today, the park features magnificent bay views, gentle trails, and abundant wildlife. Keep an eye out for egrets, ducks, and even foxes as you enjoy the park. No Fees

Awesome with dogs!

Great off-leash area, and it looks like they are currently expanding the trail to access Davis St. There’s also a water fountain with dog access, so no need to carry water.

The outer, paved trail is part of the San Francisco Bay trail. There are some benches where you can sit down and watch the sun set, or watch the planes land and take off from Oakland airport. The interior of the park is under construction right now and they have it all dug up. I'm sure it will be nice once it's completed, but you might want to avoid that section for now.
