Nice bike ride through Berkeley, Albany, and El Cerrito. It runs parallel along the Bart track and there are a lot of street crossings. You could cut it in half by starting at the North Berkeley Bart station and taking the train back from the El Cerrito del Norte station.

At the north end, construction is underway to connect the Ohlone and Richmond greenways. Once this gap is closed, there will be a continuous 7.7 mile greenway from Berkeley to Richmond. It should be finished by the end of 2017.

Nice bike trail that cuts through Berkeley.

Love this bikeway through Albany and Berkeley - what a great use of the BART lands!

Off the street, under the BART tracks, and a lovely way to walk/skate/ride from North Berkeley BART through Albany and El Cerrito, to Del Norte BART and then finally to Richmond.

It's perfectly flat, perfectly paved, and a great way to get outside for a quick walk. I often incorporate this trail into commute rides or rides with my wife, and have also used it to walk the dogs, go rollerblading, walk to get groceries, etc.

While it is off-the-street, there are about a dozen street crossings with crosswalks as the trail makes its way through town.

For most of the trail, there are two paths: one for bicycles, the other for pedestrians. In my experience, most pedestrians prefer to walk on the bike path.
