Adjacent to Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, this area has desert terrain, from below sea level to 400 foot elevations. It is a motorcycle, four-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicle, and dune buggy use area. The wash-and-ridge terrain includes a butte with dunes and a sand bowl, a blow-sand dune, springs and a camp on a former homestead site. The park has pay showers, picnic tables, shade ramadas, and fire rings. No water.

The trip is more fun than the destination, which is nice but not spectacular. Lots of trails in and out of Pumpkin Patch.

Great drive. Maiden voyage for our new Jeep and it handled the trail exceptional. Fairly easy in and out trail. The patch was really interesting. Fun couple of hours.

Accessible via Ocotillo Wells SVRA. Busy during the prime months (winter/spring), dead in the summer (too hot). Easy trail, and you don't have to do it out and back, there are other routes to exit once you get there.

Fun, moderate 4wd trail. Scenery is cool. I do not recommend going in summer. It was 116 degrees in July when we went. Not good! But we had the place all to ourselves!

The pumpkin patch at the end is pretty neat. Very odd. Worth seeing.

Probably the most open area of land you can ride on legally. Me and my son love going out there and letting our quads run wild.
