The trail was good and the scenery was beautiful, especially Stinson beach. But, it was very hard. From the beach to the top of hill is very steep and very hard. I was so tired.

Amazing - a little smoky at the peak from all the wild fires

Great trail! Lots of shade for a hot day. Lovely way to explore the area. Nice to do the Dipsea trail, but take another way back for part of it, so you don’t have to stay on the same trail the whole time. Could also come back through Muir Woods, but that area is quite crowded.

This was my first trip to Muir Woods. The park has set up one way route signs. We walked to bridge 4 on the main trail then went up to this trail to return to the entrance. It was a hot day but the path was well shaded.

No shade. But steep hills, good workout. Avoid hike on hot days, but if you do, get a lot of water.

Great route Stinson to Muir Woods and back using a figure eight rather than an out and back from Stinson. Overall, medium to difficult in sections especially the climb out of Stinson less so the climb out of Muir Woods. Take a break on the way back at the camp grounds at 1/2 way. Ranger station, lots of cold water. From there back down to Stinson is pretty easy except for the deep ruts. Parking at the start: look right as your entering Stinson on the road to Mt. Tam and u will see a row of cars, park there. Dipsea trail head is other side of street on the right.

I do a "Double Dipsea" run (Mill Valley to Stinson and back to Mill Valley) every January 1st. The redwoods and the coastal views never get old and they help you forget about the pain! Very challenging but very rewarding.

This trail was absolutely breathtaking! There was dense fog the entire day. The lush forest was unbelievable, it looked like a scene right out of Twilight. I started at the beach and ended at the beginning of the trail. I'd say if your trying to get that bootay right and tight this is the way to start...given all of the stairs!!!! Best you start early to avoid crowds. I stared as soon as the sun came up. I never understood why hikers had walking sticks until I took this hike. S%#&× gets real. So real that I burned 2,000+ calories on this hike! This will be my favorite go to for sure. And I'm a little salty that I only recorded one way on the hike because I didn't know how to press a record button. So might as well do it all over again. Parking by beach is free. I'm definitely bringing the wetsuit to take a dip after hike next time around.

HikingGreat!

Literally a breathe of fresh air! With all the smoke across NorCal and our stay at home practice, this easy trail is definitely a welcome break. Reservations are required at Muir Woods so plan ahead. Note: The majority of visitors wear masks whenever people past each other so don’t forget to be thoughtful of each other and reciprocate. You may also want to use it to help with the smoke as you get closer to the ridge.

beautiful trail, people thin out as you get closer to Muir Woods. Fog and beauty. Great to pair with other adjoining trails.

More moderate than easy, but a great hike. The 500 ft elevation gain is steep and in one place.
