Great trail! We hiked the 3.0 miles to the peak and back (6 miles total). Never too step of an incline. Nice and gradual the whole way. This is a very popular bike trail, please be aware of that before choosing to hike. We are a hiking & biking family so it’s nice to see trails built for bikers (pavers on several corners on the trail) There are so few that trails that bikes are permitted on, so it’s always nice to see one that is so well liked by bikers. Every biker we encountered used a bike Bell so you could hear them coming and were all so courteous and insisted that we take the right of way. Great views of the coast, Valencia Peak, & Morro Bay from the top. We packed a picnic. There’s a picnic table and benches at the peak. Trailhead even has its own well marked parking lot. Highly recommend!

Great overall hike, connected to other trails for extra miles. Another great winter day on the central coast ;>)...

Quite beautiful! Had never been here before but went in September and it was pretty! Super easy walk and there are little coves you can hike down to.

Flat trail with beautiful ocean views. Great for picnic/sunset/photography.

Most beautiful hike I’ve been on! Highly recommend

Beautiful hike! The first half of the trail is easy walking, and a great view is afforded from midway up. The remainder has some steeper areas that require more strenuous hiking. Gorgeous 360 view from the top. No shade anywhere on the trail, would recommend avoiding midday in the summer. Great birding.

I’m rating it a 3 only because the “Trail” was just a path leading to the beach but you can hike the dunes just as well. The beach and the views get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ though.

Excellent family walk. Lots of great ocean views. Play at the beach afterwards. Pic nic .
This seems to get busy on the weekends. Come early. Good parking and bathrooms.

There is no reservation required. There is a check in booth, they limit access daily so if it’s nice out come early. Good parking with bathrooms.
Very easy trail, recommend for kids. The first 2 miles is perfect for the kiddos.
No dogs !
After the 2 miles it inclined to windy point, there is a porta potty at the 3 mile marker.
Lots of great scenery, beautiful coves, rock structures.
You can definitely spend the day in this area. Pic nic at one of the state park beaches up the road.

This trail has a gravel base path which is even good for strollers. But foot paths branch off all the way along the coast providing fantastic close up views. Access down to tide pools and inlets provide even better access.
This hike is more about sightseeing than real hiking. it is like one big Big Sur "turn out". Beautiful.

This was an amazing hike! There is so much to see. I will be going back again!

Always beautiful, a well-maintained walking trail on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful views, options to turn off to different loop patterns, surf access at a few points. Don’t miss this one!

One of my favorite hikes on the Central coast. It’s a great workout but no scrambling or ridge hiking. Views at the top are incredible. Easy access to Hazard Reef and islay beach.

Grab a burger at House of JuJu in Morro Bay when you are done.

Beautiful trails with sweeping views of the ocean below.

Fun hike with beautiful views. We walked to Disney/Fat Point and then back to the beach access where there was a cool cove to explore. Not many out today, so it was very quiet and serene.

The hike to the top was great, difficult but doable for after holiday sluggishness! LOTS of people when I went. Which is fine but sometimes I prefer more solitude. Some geocaches along the way if you like that. Fossils to spy in the rocks. Leave them there for other hikers. Lots of lovely sagebrush to smell along the way.

Great view!!!!! Worth every minute.

Awesome hike, but the whole thing was actually about 10 miles round trip.
