Great trail. Arrive early to beat the crowds and the heat as there is no shade. We were able to see dolphins, sea otters and one rattle snake. The paths are clean and clear. Kids will do fine on this trail. Bring sunscreen because the fair skinned will burn. There's a small cove nearby to take advantage of some sand and waves.

Don’t let the rattlesnake warnings scare you away. This is an amazing hike with beautiful views of the Pacific! Super wide trail - good for all abilities. Do it!

I came down to Montana De Oro yesterday to do the Buchon trail only to find it closed due to COVID-19. So I did this trail instead. This trail is awesome! It goes up into a canyon along a stream and it’s mostly flat with lots of wooden bridges and natural tunnels thru the trees. Super scenic! I had to turn back at the junction to the Oats Peak Trail because of a leg cramp. I would do this trail again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend it.

Nice trail if want to get some mileage without too much elevation. Nice views of Valencia and canyon. Little shade, but nice breeze.

This was my first time on this trail. I am new to hiking and have been exploring my local trails. This is popular with mountain bikers and is probably best suited to them. It was a nice, slight inclined trail to Hazard Peak. Most of the trail is single person width and it can get tricky when a cyclist is passing. The views are amazing!

Great trail with beautiful scenery! BE WEARY of the rattle snakes. I got too comfortable and almost stepped on one if it wasn't for another hiker who warned me. Overall, great trail but my girlfriend will never do this trail again.

This is a great trail that heads east from the bluff trail near Point Buchon. No oceans views, but the creek running through it is lovely and the number of chirping birds is peaceful. A few little ups and downs, but basically flat. I’m not an experienced hiker and had no trouble with this trail.

Great views and weather. Parking was easy to find. Part of the trail was closed, but the views make the trail worth it a visit.

This is an easy pretty wide trail. The views are incredible! Corallina Cove was a great surprise - I had no idea it was there. We spent more time down there in the tide pools than on the actual trails.

Wonderful views all around! Nice little hike, came out to almost 5 miles. Moderately trafficked, but still had a good time and had distance between other hikers. Definitely recommend! Went to Pismo Beach after and ate some clam chowder

Very long hike with the addition of Alan Peak. However the views are incredible. Trail is in good condition up to Oat Peak and then the bushwhacking begins. Wear light-weight hiking pants to cover your legs and protect from the poison oak and scratchy shrubs on the trail to Alan peak. It’s a pretty interesting hike with the Eastwood Manzanita shrubs with deep mahogany-colored bark and various other trees, shrubs and wild flowers.
