great for beginners.

Great trail for beginners or someone looking for a quick escape. Easy trail to merge with surrounding trails and add a challenge.

Needs to be ranked as Hard, but an amazing hike and view.

This is a short, fun but rocky trail.... I will return after a good rain so I can see the water flowing!

Great short walking

Don’t overlook the easy trails if it is beautiful scenery that you seek! I got some really dope pics here. This trail was peaceful on a weekday morning and I found the solitude that I was craving.

Extremely crowded trail but I still agree that it's a nice hike. Not a good one with the dog if you have a nervous dog like mine.

Nice easy walk with spots of shade and beautiful views. Connects to the river trail so can cross over and go up the hill if you want something more challenging!

Loved hiking along the water rocks. Hiked it with the kids and they loved it!

It was a lovely and easy trail. I picked it due to my husbands recent knee injury and needed something easy. There was some beautiful scenery. The creek/river was flowing nicely.
Not much luck for animal spotting. We like to herp, and all we saw was a few lizards. No snakes unfortunately. We went around dusk.
Great for family outings and for small children. I’m not a fan of all the foot traffic. Was too busy for my liking. All in all a good short stroll though.

Wide open spaces. This is a very leisurely walk.

Good nature walk

This was a fun hike with my 2 dogs. Be sure to grab a map or follow AllTrails to be sure you stay on the right path as there are many paths branching off. There was no water running during our visit but it was still an enjoyable hike. Near the last mile there's a pretty steep incline. Half of the trail is shaded and the other is not so just be prepared.

Nice mix of easy walking and some inclines. There wasn’t much water throughout but the beautiful rock formations and variety of flat open spaces and bush laden trails was totally worth it! While there were a fair amount of folks at the trail, the space is large enough that it was still peaceful.

Nice hike. Steep heading to the saddle.

Great for beginners! This is my very first hike since moving back to California. This was a good starting point and it offers great views and shows you all the options you have once you are ready.

This is NOT even close to 6 miles. It was 4 for me, but I included a long walk down Father Junipero Serro road. How strange! This is definitely an easy hike and pretty dry right now :/ The oaks are always fun to walk under and the rocky areas are worth climbing. Not my favorite hike ... but it’s local. I added the screenshot of the miles in the photo section (if anyone was curious)

Love this trail good year long

Easy trail. Lots of shade along the way and a beautiful view of the creek!

Decent. Not too long that you can’t take kids. Fairly small and a light walk

This is a great hiking trail around the Visitor Center. Don't forget to check out the Grinding Rocks trail off this trail - beautiful layers of rocks along a stream of water. Easy hike & fun!

Trail starts out in open space, no shade, and gravel/rocky ground. There are many other trail options so follow the signs for grassland loop. As you begin to curve around a canyon you’ll see the freeway to the side for a brief moment. Then after that the hike becomes a little more interesting. You walk across bridges and under trees. The water is currently all dried up. Nice easy loop trail.

Just okay. Brought our 2 kiddos and dogs with us and it was just right for them. Next time we will go down the oak creek trail also, that looked like a more worthwhile trail.

Nice starter hike

Nice for a easy walk/hike. Added the Oak Grove Loop to add a little more distance.

It says it is 6.8 miles but I didn't get that many miles when I did the trail. It was less than 5 miles according to the trail I followed. Did anyone else get a different distance?
