Definitely a great one for a couple hour hike with amazing crayons and rock formations from water and wind erosion. On a side note TKB deli in Indio is the perfect spot to grab a bite after the hike.

Absolutely amazing canyons.

This is a very worthwhile hike. This is the best hike in the Palm Springs area. The split rock canyons are a must see. The ladders offer access for hikers of all levels.

Amazing! There are ropes (difficult for me...but I did it!!!) and ladders (much easier!) that you can take. This was a spectacular hike an overall great experience and I would do it again!! Scenery was like no other I had seen! Thank you Portland dentists group!!!

Really great hike. Mostly dog friendly. Depending on what trail you take you will have to climb ladders. We were took Painted Canyon because it was tagged dog-friendly but the turn off of the main trail started with what looked like 15-20 ft ladder. We continued along Ladder Canyon (counter-clockwise). There were a few ladders towards the end (beginning if you take Ladder Canyon clockwise) of Ladder Canyon and it wasn’t THAT bad. That being said, I have a small pug and I climb ladders at work. We crossed paths with other families with small dogs that climbed UP and they said they had no issue.

Gorgeous scenery. Not too strenuous.

So beautiful the different color rocks, we did the canyon floor, to ladder, amazing

Awesome trail!!!

Great hike through the slot. Abysmal maps and trail markings once you are out of the slot canyon.

Very easy drive to great hiking. There were also several little Jeep trails off of the main trail to add a little off road excitement. We had a great time.

Decent hike, very brown and dry and the oasis is simply 5 trees, one of which has burned down. I would recommend going to Joshua tree and doing Palm Springs oasis instead. Also, the oasis on this hike is halfway through the hike, so don’t go all the way to the end and back if you simply want to see the oasis.

Awesome trail

Don’t be intimidated by the unpaved road leading to this trail. My Civic did it, no problem! As others have said, beware repeated car break-ins during the week :(
Watch for rocks forming arrows to the path and other clever helpful rock messages! Ladders are mostly safe and all very secure. I saw many families with children, but some struggled on the ladder parts.
Overall, lovely hike with somewhat tricky trail but beautiful and unique views!

The drive in is slow but so worth the trip

This was a great hike and a nice surprise with the different terrain, slot canyons with ladders and open ridges with beautiful views of the Salton Sea. A relatively easy walk taking under 3 hours. The only drag was we had our rental car broken into when we returned. Nothing was taken as we left nothing in the car. We just had to contend with the broken glass and return it to the rental car agency to replace the vehicle. We were not the only ones. One other cars glass was broken too and there was an attempt on a Mercedes but they couldn’t get through the safety glass. Don’t go during the week when it it quiet as this is when the break in usually occur.

Fun hike - enjoyed the ladders and skinny canyon trails

Got a little lost after making it to what looked like the end of a trail after starting on the left side of the trail. Climbed out of the canyon was in and was able to find my way back down to the ladder portion of the hike. Once down in the taller canyons the sound from the wind was so powerful- it made the visions of water rushing through them fill my soul. The energy was amazing

Easy washboard road out to great hikes. Literally any car can make it out & back but if you have a rigid suspension is going to be a bumpy ride.

Very tame dirt road that leads to a few gorgeous canyon trails. Trvelled this road in a Grand Cherokee but could easily be done with any type of car.
