Did this hike yesterday (a Sat) wearing 36# pack for training. It's was a gorgeous crisp sunny day and the views were incredible. Exposed and open, a nice change from the wooded trails of Tam. Very challenging with the weighted pack. The only downside was it was a very busy trail, especially towards the Rodeo end.
This is a beautiful dog-friendly hike that is surrounded by the pacific. Lots of uphill/downhill, and hard on the knees coming down. We brought a packed lunch and ate at the top, it was gorgeous. You can see the golden-gate, and I heard you can hike to it, (9+miles out). Super sunny with little shade, so do not forget your sunscreen. Several group members were sun-burnt. Definitely nothing else better than relaxing at the beach afterwards with a fire and some much deserved booze. :) 4-stars because it was pretty crowded. Lots of tourists.
