One of the easier but longer ones in the area. Lots of great lookouts of ocean/SF/hills/bridge. Timed it for a good view of the sunset and saw a few coyote.

What an AMAZING hike. Tough, sure but so worth it. The views are absolutely breathtaking. If you hike this, take your time to stop, not just to catch your breath but also to soak up those views and enjoy nature.

Crowded. Some bikers going too fast on the downhills. But beautiful at the Beach and Overlook.

Nice trail for a stroll. Clear, wide paths to accommodate the traffic passing back and forth. Went out at dusk to catch the sunset. Difficulty changes to moderate if you choose to make it a loop and take the barely there trail connecting to the Coastal Trail.

Simple 1.4 mile out and back along the waters edge. No elevation and great for dogs.

Easy hike that ends at the beach. Walked out there in sandals for a beach wedding ceremony and my feet were fine.

Relaxing hike. Great for family. Went to the overlook when reach the beach, and it was beautiful.

Great trail! Dog friendly. Goes to all the batteries in the area, hill 88, rodeo beach and Tennessee valley beach. Limited shade. The hardest part is hiking up from Tennessee valley beach back to rodeo

Beautiful stroll to the coast.

Don’t recommend the stretch from the coastal trail down to Tennessee Valley.

As this is usually quite crowded, I had the opportunity to hike this trail at 7am this morning, stunning. Mysterious fog, just a couple of runners, deer, bunnies, a plethora of birds and a friendly coyote. It was magical.

Nice and beautiful, but a bit overcrowded

Moderate hike for anyone who can easily hike for a full day. Took me 2.5 hours one way (Muir Beach to Rodeo Beach), including a detour to Tennessee Valley Beach.

on Muir Beach to Hill 88

A tough workout but beautiful trail and hike. Highly suggest getting out early (7:30 was perfect) to beat the crowds on the trail.

Nice walk. Good for families. Very busy and crowded.

easy mostly flat, bike friendly . Good earth might be the closest grocery store and you'll find a gas station next to good earth

Fine trail for what it is: a flat, old, partially paved road out to a beautiful dark sand beach. Lots of pretty bird songs, bunnies, and crashing surf to listen to.

Perfect to walk with kids and a beach fun at the end is a bonus.

Perfect trail for me recovering from a knee injury! Even pushed myself to go to the lookout point! Awesome views up there! Well marked and maintained!

Gorgeous views of the coast, beautiful and rich vegetation, and a surprise meditation maze at the top of one of the hills. Moderate climbs.

A nice flat walk to the beach, wonderful breeze too! We did see a snake in the lower portion of the final beach walk (there will be a lower and upper path, lower goes through the wilderness while upper takes the foothills) in the grass, but he didn't bother us and we didn't bother him! Next time I'm going to bring a blanket and some snacks to eat on the beach!

Definitely recommend this trail, and I've done it a number of times. The traffic getting there from the 101-1 interchange on weekends is the most difficult part. The trail slopes gently downwards towards the ocean, and is very wide and in good shape. There are a lot of great side trails to campgrounds, or up to the tops of the ridges, if you feel like doing anything more difficult. The beach itself is great, and the lookout is definitely worth the climb.

Great place to take a quick walk. My partner and I completed this in about two hours (including time spent watching the waves on the beach). There are two paths that will get you to the beach (lower and higher). Both are great and very scenic!

Great trail with little ones. I had a 6,3 and 1 year old and we were able to do a nice 1.5 hour walk on this trail. Tons of wildflowers and so much lush greenery. Very beautiful.

This was a fun, easy trail. Nice flowers and views. It’s worth going up to the Lookout for the views of the Tennessee Valley and beach below.
