Flat trail with little to see as far as flora, but plenty of critters in the shaded areas near the back of the property. Great if you’re looking for something very easy. Would be good for walking the dog, or an easy trail run. Come in the morning because by noon the trail is quite hot.

This is as good as it gets for an easy trial. Lots of sign markers so you can’t get “lost”. Bathrooms are clean and accessible. Plenty of picnic area for sitting and just enjoying the natural environment around you. Some of the trails are closed due to maintenance. But Brian (the care taker) works hard to keep it all up. If you see him on the trail he’ll give you a cool bit of history about the area. Super friendly, chill dude. Lots of ground squirrels, lizards and bugs and if you’re lucky you can catch a coyote or bobcat and even raccoons in the trees. Great easy trail just bring sunscreen and water! Stay hydrated!

It was a nice simple hike, leveled ground. My daughter and I enjoyed it very much.

The longest trail closed and one trail really overgrown and hard to walk through. This is more of a family picnic place than anything. Definitely not a hike. more of a stroll.

Nice nature walk, level ground, fun place to take kids exploring when the weather is nice.

The loop trail to the north is currently closed off as is the Swamp Trail. May be permanently due to cattle being brought in to the area for revegetation. But nonetheless, this is definitely a great trail for all ages and skill sets. But, if you take a trail leading to the north just past the rest rooms, that is the Fitness Trail, you may be able to see where the old trail used to be beyond the Fitness Trail.

decent trail for a beginner like myself

Nice hike but early morn expect wet feet.

Not really a hike but more of a nature walk. One of the bigger loops is closed. The Sycamore loop was open but not maintained and very overgrown. Two smaller loops were open and felt like an old growth forest. Some Angus cows and calves were on part of the preserve so lots of cow pies.

Nice way to start the day. The swamp & sycamore trails were closed. 3 other smaller trails to hit.

It was fun in the early spring with water running. There were maps at the trail head and animals/cows to see. It is very kid friendly, but views are limited. It is a good place to play in trees.

Good lil trail, scenery wise not much to look at because of the recent drought a lot of trees have dried out. Easy hike on a dirt trail.

Be sure to grab the map at the welcome kiosk, the signs leave a little to be desired. We took 5 year olds, grandparents, and our dog for a lovely walk even though we had no clue where we were going. Ended up in the elderberry trail, did a loop around the 3/4 mile dirt exercise trail, and the trail off to the north and spent a few hours walking. Didn’t make it to the swamp. I’d go when there is more green, lots of wintering trees and shrubs in January. Got some good birding in though: red tails, red shouldered hawk, and the largest crows I’ve ever seen. Great for kids, bathrooms were clean pit style toilets and several places for a picnic at a table along the elderberry trail.

A nice flat hike. Some of the trails through the large Oak trees are closed due to the 2016 drought and some of the trees dying. They recently added restrooms. There are also picnic tables and a creek/canal.

A jewel right outside of town. There are several trails at this location, so look at the map prior to starting out. The grapevine trail was beautiful where the river and creek met. Lots of rabbits, squirrels, birds, lizards and the wild Lilly flowers were beautiful.

Beautiful trail and plenty of wildlife. Great for a family that has younger kids.
