Good big trees. Not much of a view. Scattered picnic tables throughout.

It said easy so I wore normal shoes and slipped several times on steep rocky downhill areas. It’s also super dusty because of all the mountain bikes, so instead of looking at green foliage it’s all brown.

I'm rating this trail 1 star because it is definitely not an easy trail. If you're a novice you won't like this trail. Definitely a beautiful hike but this trail has 100s of mountain bikers on it. I had to move around 50 times out of the way of mountain bikers. There were areas on the trail only 2 feet wide where you have to make room for mountain bikes moving at 25 mph. This trail is not KID FRIENDLY like suggested above. Steep hills with unsafe conditions. I went with my sister and towards the end of the trail we saw a family approaching the trail and urged then to turn around. We warned them that it wasn't safe for kids. Out of control mountain bikers make this trail uncomfortable and nerve recking during tight quarters. It's a beautiful trail that should be dedicated to either hiking or mountain biking, not both. I'm not a rookie hiker. I've been on over 100 hikes from this all trails app

This was in between an easy and moderate trail. I did manage to get lost a little bit but backtracked thanks to this App. The forest is beautiful even during a hike beginning of fall at 12. Watch out for bikers and if you’re hiking I would really suggest you wear hiking boots, for ankle stability as well as walking those rock terrains. I spotted a few people on my trail today and was able to maneuver easily on the trails for the exception of losing my way for a minute or two.

This was a nice trail it is moderate and be prepared to go off trail for Cinderella Trail. It was quite a challenge finding Cinderella trail. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my son who went with me on this hike. There are lots of bikers so don’t bring little kids under the age of 5. Overall the trail was a workout which I enjoyed.

super easy if your just starting out fun path ways you can take all over the park

Beware, this is a Moderate hike!!!
NOT EASY, there is over 800 ft elevation climb for a while. Needs to be updated in the app. However, it is one of my favorites. Beautiful hike, varied terrain, can be lots of bikes at times.

Beautiful scenery with some nice mild inclines to make it decent enough exercise for the day. We went on a Wednesday around 6:30 and there were only a few hikers and a couple of mountain bikers. Great views and easy parking. Highly recommend and would go again.

Excellent Trail...Plenty of Shade...Free Parking...Friendly People...would totally go again.

FYI no bathroom. Nice trail though.

sooo dusty but great views of the bay. not really in the redwoods at all lots of sun

Came here for a hike, but probably wouldn’t come back for a regular hike. Noticed mountain bikers and trail runners, and it seems like a great trail for that. The hike itself was just so so- not the most scenic or interesting in this area.

If you’re a beginner trail runner like me, I’d just do the Sequoia Bayview trail as an out-and-back. Beautiful trees, found it quite tranquil in the morning. Going west on the Cinderella trail is SUPER steep downhill and quite rocky. Fun to hike, but slightly terrifying if you’re a new trail runner.

love this trail, just another treasures in the Oakland hill. Great for hiking, jogging, biking. Theres areas available for bbq picnics, and large bbq gatherings. I love the creeks running along the trails and the large redwoods for kids to climb on.

Busy trail when I did it and not one I'd repeat. The park in general wasn't very well kept up. Hopefully it's changed now

Tried it out today (7/6) in the afternoon. It was okay, don’t think I’d do it again or recommend it, honestly.

Pro: there’s a good mix of terrain, from wide flat paths through tall trees to narrow paths through grassy hillside, easy access from main roads in Oakland, mostly shady paths, very few other people hiking it and only a couple of bikers, a good bit of free parking

Con: the trails are marked VERY poorly (had I not had this app, I would have been terribly lost), parts of the trail are very narrow which makes getting out of the way for bikers a bit difficult, you can hear planes flying overhead and traffic on the interstate on a good bit of the trail, I spent most of the time looking at the ground making sure I wouldn’t trip over the numerous rocks and wasn’t able to enjoy the actual trail

Scenic, easy trail. Lots on bike traffic on weekends.

This is a great hike to get outside after work. It's a short loop that is shaded and mostly level. You start with a flat hike through the trees on a wide path that is heavily trafficked with runners and bikers. Midway there is a short uphill climb as you get onto the Big Trees trail. This has some pretty views through the redwoods, but also some less sceenic areas that parallel close to the road and through some picnic areas.

We had a lot of fun on the sunset trail, lots of great views and we didnt run into many people.

Great easy hike. There is a point in the loop part that is kind of hard to follow because the signs aren’t good. You come off the trail and walk around the horse arena then connect back to Sequoia Bayview trail on the horse arena short cut trail.

Nice trail. Mostly shaded, lots of redwoods. Full loop is closer to 4 miles exactly.

Mostly shaded trail with nice views and varied vegetation. the trail begins with gentle switchbacks up to Sequoia Bayview trail. From there it is a long flat stretch under the tree line with occasional peeks out towards the bay. The Cinderella Trail narrows quite a bit. (I wouldn't want to meet a bike on that part of the trail as parts of it were rough and the steepest section.) Then you are returned back to the trailhead through a flat fire road. Overall, a nice hike.

Perfect place to escape the Walnut Creek heat and get the pup some exercise without working too hard! Easy, shaded, dog friendly loop trail.

Parts of the trail are very active with bikers so it can get very dusty. Relatively shady for most of the trail. Pretty easy trail to follow.

I've been hiking here for years and love finding new hikes. This one is good with the kiddos too. Short, fun and beautiful.

Plenty of parking mid-day Saturday, took 2.5hours to complete. Not really a view of the bay since the view is blocked by trees. Heavily trafficked and lots of bikes, but everyone is friendly enough to share the trail with dogs on and off leash.

Nice trail, but you have to watch out for mountain bikes. Alot.
