Great trail system and nice jump park near Costco.

more parking by Costco and home depot parking lot. good place to film a western

Great views. Plenty of shades. We stayed on Mariposa Trail all the way, and hiked on paved trail to the dead end. We came to Sterling Lane, which was residential. Mariposa real didn’t loop back the the parking oh Prefumo Canyon Trail head. No snakes. Some lose rocks. Nonetheless l, we enjoyed the trail and had a good walk!

Great trail. The trail was nice. The view from Morro View Trail was breathtaking. I saw just a few hikers, 1 bike. Loved it so much

Did this hike on 1/1/2020. It had been a little over a week since the last rain, but it was not muddy. Excellent hike! Several options to make the hike longer/challenging. We deviated a little from the route highlighted here and it added about 20 min to our hike. Definitely not an easy hike, moderate yes. Some areas required going uphill, paved road, rocky up and down, wide paths, and narrow paths. So a big mix. Highly recommend. It took us (family of 5) about 2.5 hrs to complete.

Closed on 24 Dec - I am guessing due to rain

Trail was a good, runnable trail. I did the uphill side first and had a long descent down. Single track and technical in the beginning. Opens to a large fire road towards the end and back to really narrow (but smooth) single track. Would do again but the sign markers don’t really mark for this trail so I had to keep referencing this app when I got to trail splits to make sure I wasn’t going the wrong way. That’s the reason I subtracted stars. Shady for first half, full exposure on fire roads. It was muddy, but it also recently rained. Not sure if that’s normal or not. Also, my Garmin marked this as 3.37 miles. Took me 50 min (including the stopping).

First off, I would recommend bringing hiking poles (I forgot mine). There are a lot of small and medium rocks on the trail, which roll under your feet and were problematic on my way down. I would also recommend wearing hiking boots for ankle stability as you walk over the rocks. The hike itself was absolutely lovely, with great views. I only passed a few hikers and mountain bikers, so most of the time I had the trail completely to myself. I highly recommend the trail.

lovely hike with kobie

Nice long stretch of the legs. Prospectors trail on the way down turned out to be quite pretty As well as shady almost all the way down :-)

clearly marked but not shady.

Nice easy trail with great views. Watch out for lots of unmarked side trails - it's very easy to get off track. Alltrails app offers terrific guidance on this trail.

easier sections of irish hills.

watch out for rattlesnakes! beautiful trail. I love irish hills.

love all of Irish hills <3

An enjoyable trail to hike. Not too difficult with clear paths and lightly traveled. There is little shade, so I recommend traveling in the morning or late afternoon. But it's got good lookout points and some interesting parts to see.

Great, beautiful trail. Good mix of tree cover and sunshine. On a bike it’s a tough, technical climb... and actually a tough technical descent as well! Definitely not for MTB beginners, but lots of fun. As a hiking or running trail it’s great, just be careful for your ankles as there’s like a million little rocks— the first half mile or so is pretty smooth dirt, then the rocky terrain starts and never ends.

Nice easy to moderate hike. Nice breeze and a handful of shady spots. Poison oak in some spots. I came across a rattlesnake on the side of the trail.

Easy enough. Aim for morning though, not much shade throughout.

One of my go-to morning hikes. Steep start and then a slow descent to the finish.

App did not accurately track my movements for over half the hike

moderate. relentless flies made it unenjoyable. not many views. some great shady bits tho

creek crossings and amazing beautiful views. worth the time. watch for rattlesnakes. they are out there!

Great hike with wonderful views of SLO and Morro Rock. There is a lot of poison oak towards the bottom where the trail is narrow, so make sure to pay attention and stay on trail.
