7/5/2020 warm evening walk. Parking lot closed and dirt lot full, cars parked on the shoulder. Actual trails not crowded. Quiet, breezy golden hour walk.

Love it right next to the water.

This is a great trail. It extends from parallel to the Hayward/San Mateo bridge to the parking lot of the Hayward shoreline. According to my Apple Watch it is 6.0 miles, while my Nike run club app marked it at 6.22 miles. This specific route runs close to the Bay Area bay waters. The shoreline extends for at least 2 miles in the other direction. In my opinion, the other direction has a better view of Oakland/San Francisco, while this direction has a better look at the San Mateo bridge. I would recommend the park to others, especially as a way to cool down on a hot day. There is very limited shade though the bay waters helps keep cool throughout the entire walk.

Great trail that goes by the water. Many benches for picnicking and enjoying the view of the bay. Good for dogs, walking, running, and biking.

My happy place! Its incredible year-round. The wildflowers bloom in March/April. Nothing is better than the bay breeze on a warm summer day. Winters are nice too because not many people brave the elements. It’s very peaceful when its not overcrowded. I venture down side trails to avoid the main crowd. Dogs are not allowed west of the dam. Theres a cool glass beach at the end - area used to be a landfill. Mosquitos come out in full force at dusk.

I would rate this as easy, not moderate, as there is no incline. A great place to bring your dog for on leash walk, if you have knee issues, or for those hot days when you still want sun because it’s cooler. An easy way to get in those 10k steps.

Flat, easy trail to and through the Cogswell Marsh from the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center.

Great place to wear out the dog, but not kill your knees. There are spots where you should be vigilant about foxtails, but otherwise manageable. Spots where you can go out to the water and little beaches. Great for a hot day. Did it for the first time yesterday and can’t wait to go back.

Great to bike with kids (5-6 yo)

Trail is mostly paved with graveled soil so it can be muddy on rainy days like today. Very windy. Luckily, I caught a rainbow, so it made my day. I'll repeat.

Nice walk. Did not see a single homeless person during the walk, unlike the SF Bay Trail: West Oakland BART to Coliseum BART. Will repeat.

San Leandro has an established multi-use trail and Marina Park. Paved trail with benches spaced every half mile. Marina Park offers a variety of play and exercise options. Free wi-fi too. Well done!

Restored salt marshes and comfortable walking surface. Easy trail and opportunities to see shore birds. Port-a-potty located in the parking lot at the northern trail head.

Easy walk but no shade. Take a hat.

Easy walk but no shade. Go at low tide so you can get to the island.

Great flat trail, good place to work on form/log miles.

Open space, nice flat trails. Great view of the bay. Trail continues north to the San Leandro Marina and south to the San Mateo Bridge.

Great Place to Bike and to unwind after a stressful day
