Hayward Regional Shoreline contains over a thousand acres of marshlands and seasonal wetlands. The park’s levees, originally built for salt evaporation ponds, now provide visitors with long, flat paths along the bay that are perfect for biking, hiking, or jogging. Fishing is allowed at various points along the trail, but only with a license. Although the park is unshaded, the cool bay air is refreshing and makes this park a wonderful spot at almost any time of year. Park Hours: Between 5am and 10pm unless otherwise posted

Great flat trail, good place to work on form/log miles.

Open space, nice flat trails. Great view of the bay. Trail continues north to the San Leandro Marina and south to the San Mateo Bridge.

Great Place to Bike and to unwind after a stressful day

I typically run this out and back. Super flat, pretty windy at times. But it’s fun to watch the planes coming into land at Oakland International and check out all the marine birds

Good trail along the bay which is dog and bike friendly. View is okay but very flat.

Nice bike ride along the bay trail. You'll encounter a head wind as you go toward the bay from the interpretive center, but the ride back will be much easier. There are lots of birds and you'll see the commercial jets starting their descent into OAK.

Did this one with my wife because it was in a book that I was doing trails out of... Interesting only because of the amount of birds we saw that day including a lot of geese. The Interpretive center was interesting. One of those places we drive by for a lifetime and usually don't take the time to see.

Flat trail for beginners but has nice views of the Bay as well as some great wildlife.

Good early run people out and enjoying the mourning

I'm a newbie, and I found this trail to be easy due to the flat terrain. I'm grateful for that since I'm just getting over a knee injury.

Lots of people out enjoying the shoreline

I run here on a regular basis good run excellent views and very peaceful

Fun and Beautiful

easy hiking trail though can make it more difficult by increasing the mileage, the running is also great here, as it's mostly flat. Sunsets are absolutely beautiful, and there are a lot of birds to watch.

Love walking this trail by the bay. It's flat and perfect for a quick hike. Parking is easy to find which is a plus.

Mostly flat good for bike riding running and beginning hikers since there is nearly no incline. Close to the San Mateo Bridge. Nice to see the birds soaring over the water. No shade so if it's hot wear a hat...nice sea breeze adds resistance to your workout and adds to the experience. Better than I expected initially you have to walk deeper through the trail to get to the water views.
