I don’t really consider this “easy” some steep areas that get your heart rate up. I would say this is between easy and moderate. Take water.

Great workout here on the bluffs. It’s local so we go often for a workout. Parking nearby is kinda sketchy, and the views aren’t very pretty. Don’t do this in summer as there is little to no shade. But if you are just looking for incline/decline training this is a great place to get it in!

This is a great app for my wife and I. We have never hiked much and now we have our for loves to hike. It gives all the info we need

It was warm sunny Sunday, my companion and I were prepared for a jaunty stroll through the green hills of Bakersfield. We found the parking with out any problems. We surveyed the area, it looked promising a easy Sunday stroll..... readers be ware halfway through the “stroll” I feared for our lives! The hills snuck up on us, we clamored and struggled up those monstrous hills. With hearts pounding we surveyed the vast open space disorientated us. In the wide open dry land we feared we may never see our loved ones again! As we cleared the last leg of the trail we gave up on all hope of ever surviving this grueling trail. 1hr later we were passed by a family of four (mother, farther and two elementary school children) at last civilization! We were free..... my companion and I often speak fondly of our hikes, but we never speak of the Heart Park small loop..

nice hike. not spectacular scenery but nice. lots of variety in the trails. wouldn't suggest this in the summer, no shade.

Not as easy as suggested; some pretty steep parts. Perfect for a good, quick workout!

We did the 2 mi loop and I would not call it easy! We went on a cool fall day and it was pleasant. Not one for a hot sunny day, as there is no shade. Nice views, watch your footing!

I would definitely with do this again but when it cold.

Haven't concurred the whole thing yet but I've been dreaming about it for months. It's just too hot out there. It was absolutely gorgeous when I went last in March, I'm waiting for it to cool down a bit before I do it again.

Excellent location for a hike, jog, hill climbing with spectacular vistas of Hart Park, Kern River / Canyon, Sierra Nevadas: Bear Mountain, Tehachapis, Greenhorn Mountains. A true outdoor activities gem.

Excellent hike or hill climbing workout with amazing scenic vistas from any vantage point. A Kern County outdoor activities gem.

Very good place but the drought has dried up almost all the fields.

So, I decided to try this trail out for the first time. It is a moderately tough trail due to the uneven paths. I'm guessing all the rain we received this year had something to do with it, of course. If this is your first time tackling this trail, I suggest doing the main trail a few times before taking on this one. This is not a walk in the park. I did encounter some wildlife. With that said, watch where you step as you may step on a rattlesnake as I almost did. Bring plenty of water because it does get quite dry. I made the mistake of not doing the easy trail first and because of that I kinda went off the trail. Most of the smaller trails are for bicycling/dirt bike/horse backing. I advise to stick to the walked trails.

Nice hike with beautiful views. the park portion is a bit too busy for my liking but then again it IS a park. I would do this easy walk again with my dogs

Sunday, April 23, 2017

Easy walk. Can get a little crowded. Nice views of the Kern River, and mountains. Got to see peacocks.

good hike with steep hills in some areas. it can be a bit slippery so make sure u have proper footwear. I would do this again just take a different route

Hiking the Hart Park bluffs is a bit like playing chess. After a few opening moves, the possibilities are virtually infinite (relative to what can be done in a human lifetime). Start your hike and then take your pick; long short, steep, gradual, mixed, safe, or dangerous. Hikers, bikers and dirt bikers are typically cordial and courteous. Minimal trash left on the trails by pigs.

first time loved it.

Monday, March 20, 2017

Okay hike, a lot of traffic due to the park. Some of the trails were very steep, difficult for children.

There are so many paths to choose from, it's make your own trail type of paths! I got a bit lost using the trail given, but then I just made my own impromptu one! don't panic just go with the flow! The bikers are pretty friendly too so don't be intimidated, just stay vigilant and aware!

My 4 year old and I spent 2 1/2 hours on this trail! We would definitely do it again. There are beautiful wild flowers growing now, including California Poppies! Get out there while it's green!

An alright Trail. Cool place to watch the sunset.

Monday, January 30, 2017

It was nice to go there during January because it's not too hot. It was a very easy hike. Beautiful green grass and blue skies.

Saturday, January 28, 2017

Huge trail systems around, almost enough to get lost in if there weren't so many people to follow out of there. Half of the trails are washed out from storms this year, making for unsteady footing and altered trail routes from eroded areas. Still a nice area to spend some time in, especially for conditioning for other hikes.
