Harmony Headlands SP is a 784 acre coastal park located approximately 5 minutes north of the coastal community of Cayucos in San Luis Obispo County on Highway One. The park unit number is #745. The park is open for day use hiking from 6am to sunset. A small parking lot is visible along the west side adjacent to the southbound lane of Highway One. The parking lot can accommodate approximately 10 vehicles. A one and half mile trail from the parking lot extends west to coastal marine terrace grassland with steep hills and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. There are no services available other than a portable restroom next to a small historic ranch house near the beginning of the trail. Cell phone service is sparse. A group of State Park Volunteers walk the park and provide information to the hiking public and assist State Parks with monitoring park activities and reporting emergencies.

This was a nice little walk. We had five kids aged 4-12. The 4 year old needed a rest on the way back but it was easy. We saw deer, owl, and hawks. It was a great little jaunt to the ocean.

One of my favorite little hikes easy and I love to go across the street to Harmony cellars for a glass of wine after.

Nice and smooth.

I love this trail! We went on a warm day in early fall. The initial part of the trail, which is more inland, is a little dry, and slightly uphill. It was a peaceful atmosphere though. Not heavily trafficked on the weekday we chose to go. We didn't know what to expect at the end based on what we saw at the beginning. Wow! You are in for a surprise, the bluffs are amazing!

This hike offers a great combination natural terrain/wildlife views leading toward the ocean and gorgeous views while hiking along the ocean.
