I did not love this trail. It was very busy and I ran into a lot of homeless. I went with my boyfriend and two dogs and about 3/4 of the way thru my dog found a rattle snake and we turned around. I'm new to the area so I don't know if this is a very common occurrence but the overgrowth on the edge of the trail I'm sure didn't help. I would not do this trail again.

the park was very pretty, but it is not in a good area at all. you can get to the american river bike trail right from the park which is a pretty walk...but walkers are directed to go off of the paved path to yield to the rude bicycle riders. would not recommend going there if you are a female going by yourself.

Large park area fairly heavily populated, bike/walk trail on the back side of the park, by the river, with lots of bicyclists. There is a dog park, baseball diamonds, picnic areas, and some restrooms i saw. cool little park area to take our pupper for a walk.

You can follow the main trail, walk along the river bed, or along one of the many small split offs. There are many ways to go, so it can be done multiple times seeing different things along different paths.
