Gets warm out! Rattlesnake literally crossed next to us on the trail path (brave sucker!) Wide paths. Not the most entertaining hike but hey it’s to the inFamous sign!

The view of downtown LA is worth the hike alone, but seeing the Hollywood sign closer up was really cool!

Beautiful trail, gorgeous views of the city

Started trail via Amirs Garden route and recommend it as starting point being get some nice shade before an overall stretch of 99% exposed trail. The path is relatively nice except for the few uphills that are followed by a scrubby path that will test ones footing. Lots of cool breezes on the way up and a ton of wildlife make this a pretty nice trail.

I was excited about this trail as it was my first time. We hiked on an overcast afternoon so the weather was pleasant. The views are amazing I definitely recommend this place. However the only warning I have is DO NOT follow the red line STAY on the dotted line trail. The map got us lost on our way back to the car. Overall a good workout and amazing LA views.

Nice short hike I was able to squeeze in after work. I recommend for beginners or people trying to get in shape like me. I actually went backwards and parked by the Mineral Wells picnic area and entered off Griffith Park Dr, following the sign for North Trail and Amir’s Garden. I climbed the steep fire road past the water tank and arrived at the top of the garden. After going this route, I think what AllTrails recommends is best. Half the fun of this trail is climbing the steep stairs up as the garden builds up around you. The trails inside the garden are narrow and over grown in a good way and it was fun exploring the different paths to find new seating areas. I sat down in one of these areas with a view of Glendale and enjoyed the sunset before heading out.

Really nice trail! There's one big hill at the beginning and a smaller one at the end, and it's flat inbetween for the most part.

Fun trail :) Always cautious about hiking alone but you’re never too far from the road. Poop galore for sure haha but it’s a nice chill hike with the perk of checking out some LA history. Some sandy areas where traction isn’t so great but the slight challenge was sweet.

Pretty nice hike with a few uphill climbs but mostly flat or downhill if you’re going counter-clockwise. For a little part of it you have a view of the highway/Burbank hills which is not the best but it’s so short and the rest of the hike outshines it for sure! If you’re looking for an easier hike with a little bit of hill at times this one is definitely for you!

The trail is at mostly an incline. There are plenty of places to stop and admire the view. and rest. There are a horses traveling this trail so beware of poop. Trail is heavily traveled so great hike for a single hiker. Recommend hiking early morning or afternoon as there a long stretches where there is no shade.

The gardens were SO cute. A total oasis. A bit steep but light - would recommend.

We went counter-clockwise. It's pretty much a fire trail with a slight incline snaking uphill. The garden at the top is lovely, lots of colors and different types of greenery. There are picnic tables and water fountains for people, horses and dogs. I highly recommend turning around at that point and going back down the same way you came up. The "stairs" that complete the loop have lost so much soil that it's just wooden boards and metal poles sticking up some 6-10 inches out of the ground. Very unsafe! Foliage hasn't been cut back in a while and there are no signs for which of the many forks to take. It's a labyrinth with dead ends on the side of a mountain.

I had an awesome time hiking here beautiful view

4/1/19 - lovely walk. Also, consider the extra mileage and trek on up behind the sign to the actual ridge line to see the lovely back side of the valley.

Great hike if you're in LA. Lots of people and lots of sun so come early and try and avoid both. Good for all ages and dogs. Great view of downtown LA and on a clear day, the ocean! Plenty of parking but be patient, the roads in and out are a bit narrow, hikers are always coming and going so don't worry if you don't find a spot right away. Only bathroom spot is in the parking area at the bottom so plan accordingly.

It’s a nice scenic hike, definitely recommend coming on an early hike and rising with the sun!

Great hike, wonderful scenery. If you start from Canyon Drive/ Brush Canyon Trail, the first mile is all uphill. Lots of fun!

Too crowded, close to the highway, not overly scenic. Wouldn’t go back.

Great hiking with the family, beautiful views!

The garden itself is pleasant, and I enjoyed the flowers and foliage. However, the trail itself needs some love. Some of the metal stakes that hold up the steps are jutting out, and it made me grateful I’d had a tetanus shot recently. I think as long as you’re careful on the steps, you’ll have a good time.

a good hike to take within grifith park

Beautiful short trail. This was a nice Sunday mid day hike. You are next to the freeway so expect to hear it. You also get a cool view of Burbank once you hit the top. Also lots of wildflowers are blooming!
