The path is mostly paved so it’s more of a walk than a hike! But beautiful views and we went on a warm day so the beach was so comfortable

trail running

This is Bay Area winter running at its finest. Windy and hilly but still sunny! The views make the concrete worth the effort. The dirt trails begin after the missile area which is now unkempt and heavily graffitied.

Beautiful views and a good variety of trails to mix it up.

Hiked clockwise, 5.4 miles, 1 hr 52 min.

Gorgeous trail, Tennessee Beach is a must-see along the way. Nothing beats the view from the coast or the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks. This trail can be a thigh-burner in some areas where the elevation varies, but nothing too bad if you’re moderately in shape.

Great easy hike for the weekend! Great views of the bridge.

Solid hike. Nice views and has a good mix up up hill and downhill

We modified this trail a bit by starting at Rockaway Beach and skipping the trail that leads to and from the college. It was about two miles shorter doing it this way. We went counter-clockwise and the first three miles were straight up with amazing views everytime we turned around. The top flattened out for about a mile and then you head back down with those same amazing views in front of you!
Crossing the road was pretty annoying. You have to be prepared to wait for a break in traffic and then run to the middle of the road, wait for another break in traffic and run to the other side.
We walked about a block through the neighborhood and connected with the lower Mori point trail (bathrooms) and then it was about .3mi to connect back with the coastal trail to Mori Point or you could continue on the lower trail and take a steep set of stairs to get up to Mori Point.
The views from Mori Point are fantastic! We timed it so we could be there around sunset, which is why we parked at Rockaway Beach.

Simply the most beautiful hike close to a major US metro in my opinion.

Majestic views, frog concert and sunset upon returning to the trailhead. First part is all up last part you get to cool down and be in the shade if you are hiking later afternoon. Spotted 2 coyotes at 30 feet.

Nice trail and great view of pacific + peninsula once you get to Sweeney ridge

Great trail , beautiful views , other trails you can take for more scenery , love the coast views

Great little loop in Marin Headlands fairly close to the city! We started the loop clockwise to get the major incline out of the way, and it was a bit of a glute burner, but the views were just outstanding! Great wildlife viewing as well.

Took a little over 2 hours with a few photo stops along the way, LOTS of bikers and other hikers out fairly early, so try to get there at a decent hour for parking. Dogs are allowed on leash but saw plenty off leash during the morning.

This was a good trail with a stroller. The kids (5 and 3 years old) had a lot of fun finding beautiful pebbles in a streamlet near the ocean. They are excited to go back!

Really neat trail! Beautiful cliffs for the ocean waves to break on. Gorgeous views of the bay. Enjoyed the trees that looked like they had been trimmed and were cleaning up after.

Easy loop, great view, best to go on a weekday though if you can.

Short trail, good for kids, our kids enjoyed picking fennel leaves and sour grass, and they loved gallivanting on the beach.

Beautiful hike but as of today there’s no more swing. It’s been cut off.

Great for a quick jog or a sunset stroll. Amazing views.

Not dog friendly. Drove out here to find a sign that says no dogs. Super disappointed as it looked really nice.

Gorgeous hike along the coast. Healthy ups and downs - the downs were a bit steep and could be tricky with loose rocks.

great bridge views, little crowded, very windy

on Pirate's Cove

Pretty nice hike, nice views, especially at sunset

Great trail for on-leash dog hiking! We walked out 5 miles and back 5 miles from the north end. It was open and exposed the whole time (no walking in forested areas—that’s farther south) with a wide trail and beautiful views of the hills and the nearby bay. There is a point 1.2 miles from the trailhead where it’s unclear whether you should go through a gate and continue left or walk left on the current side of the fence — go through the gate!! The misleading path is a cattle path. Speaking of which — the cows can be extremely *friendly*, thinking you are bringing them food. If you have dogs (especially heelers) make sure you’re following the leash rule for their safety. It can be INCREDIBLY windy, so make sure you dress accordingly. I plan on going back and trying an out-and-back from the southern end.

great views of sutro tower, the city, marin, muir beach and some gorgeous coastal cliffs.

The Fox Trail section was quite steep. After that our side trip to Pirate's Cove Beach was too much of an incline for us!

Very easy trail to follow (coastal trail); very steep elevation! It’s 11-14 miles round trip, so you’ll need to start early (plan for ~6 hours), bring lots of water, sunscreen and snacks.

Awesome beach views, but can get windy.

Gave it 4/5 starts because my personal preference is for more mossy/woodsy and/or varied scenery and this is broad daylight and coastline the whole time.

Beautiful Views. Like many people have mentioned, bring a lot of water. There is not much shade on most of the trail.
