One of the best hiker near to San Francisco which overlooks the ocean and at the same time makes you feel secluded.

Very very windy and foggy. Try to go on a clear day with less wind or your won’t see much! When the fog clears, I’m sure it’s beautiful views !

Loved this hike! This route began with a half mile climb up stairs. Then there is a rather long down hill portion that drops you onto the beach. The second half of the hike was definitely more challenging than the first. A lot of up hill climbing and a ton of stairs. The views make it worth it though!

Good all around hiking and biking trail starts out with some uphill gravel then trancends into dirt with switchbacks and some shortcuts . not too steep and not too long it’s an easy hour and a half round-trip.There is the option to continue to Sweeney Ridge and working way north all the way up to Milagra Ridge or Sharp Park Road you can also drop down to San Bruno via Sneath Lane lots of options and opportunities for both hiking and biking.

Awesome trail. Really beautiful forested stairs on the way up. The majority of the trail was wide and had no shade. It was pretty foggy despite being a hot day and I got vertigo at the last strip and didn’t go down hawk camp. Really gorgeous with some decent views.

Makes it a lot more scenic if you head west along the Farralones View Trail on top of the ridge, but be ready for a solid uphill climb back to Baquiano. Good connection to Sweeney ridge.

Scenic and beautiful!!

A little technical up due to deep ruts. First five miles hard and in the sun. But from other direction to that point is beautiful redwood grove, shade and good for kid.

Lovely hike with beautiful views of the bay. Steady uphill incline for the first mile and half, but worth it. Will definitely be going back

Is the trail back open?

A trail with beautiful view all across of the pacific and the SFO bay. There is an initial climb up almost for 3/4th mile and then pretty much flat out.

Absolutely loved this hike. There is a part where you hike down to a beach and tons of just amazing views all around. Moderate hiking ability.

Great trail, with breathtaking views of ocean! We saw several beautiful wildflowers and wild berries! We absolutely loved it! Most People are wearing mask and consider social distancing guidelines! Way back is much much more prettier because you are facing the ocean! Because the views are so different on your way up and your way down, the hike doesn’t get boring! Dog owners, please please pick up after your dog! There are lots parks that are not dog friendly and not following the pick up rules might close these parks for dogs!

Too steep

This hike is a bit of a surprise. And it is open. First - crowds. The parking lot can be full to over flowing, so you will need to park up the street in a residential area. There are also bikers to deal with. Many walkers have dogs on leash. There were also a few trail runners if you are into that kind of thing. Second - the road. The trail for most of this hike is an old, blocked off road. So you are really walking on an old street. Third the view - For the first mile and a half looking east, most of what you look down on is SFO. But this hike rewards the patient. When you get to the top of the ridge which tops out at about 1,300 feet, the view opens up and you will see from Mt. Hamilton to Mt. Tam to the Farallon Islands and most landmarks in between. The main hiking trail goes right once you hit the bathroom at the top of the ridge and stays on the road. But much more rewarding is to go left, stop at the historical marker and keep going about a mile until you hit a gate (not terribly rewarding) but as you backtrack, the trail splits and heads down hill to a plateaued meadow. We were there at 3PM on a Saturday afternoon and had the meadow to ourselves. All we could hear was the wind and a few birds. We saw rabbits and lizards but reports are that there is a pair of coyotes who inhabit the area. We were told they have been named Bevis and Butthead by the locals. There have also been sightings of mountain lions, a mother with cubs. Having a slight chance to see these neighbors is a great reason to walk quietly. So we didn't actually do the course on this hike, but got some great exercises, 10K steps and saw some beautiful views. The Sweeney meadow - highly recommended for those who want a little quiet.

Beautiful plants and flowers, I found the flora to be diverse. Wonderful views of the SF airport and the ocean, if you go high enough. Steep first 30 minutes.

OPEN DURING COVID-19 (As of 5/9/20) Nice hike with beautiful views of Sausalito and the Bay. Just be careful, it gets very cloudy and windy in the afternoon as the fog rolls in. The temperature dropped at least 20 degrees from 4pm to 5pm. Great for mountain biking as long as you're comfortable with some hills. It's definitely more of a moderate hike as there's quite a bit of elevation gain. Be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes. There's only a small parking area just off the 101 at Rodeo Ave with room for only two cars, but it's legal (I think) to park along the road (not the highway!). We did, and had no problems. This is one of the few hikes we could find in Marin County that was still OPEN during COVID-19.

It was a nice hike. A few inclines. Not too bad. Fairly easy to moderate. :) it’s an ok view.
