Easy walk down to the beach. You can book to camp there too. Finding parking on top was a pain since there’s very limited space. There was no swing when I went.

Super chill and great for all levels.

Great hike!! I’ve done it twice now and love it for a solid work out. Be aware that it’s actually 6.6 miles roundtrip, not 5.3. Also, the first 2-3 miles on the way back from Muir beach is almost entirely up hill... something to keep in mind. Highly recommend if you want a good work out.

Great loop with a nice stopover on hill 88. Takes 2-3 hours with leisurely pace.

some of the best ocean views in the area. we did this on 7/7 so very warm day but the breeze from the ocean kept it very comfortable, even in the sun. no shade on this hike so sunscreen and hat a must! actually hiked down to Muir beach to check it out and there are much nicer restrooms there than at the start of the Tennessee Valley Trail head. if you have time check out pirate‘s Cove for a quick little closer view of the ocean. be sure once you hit Tennessee Valley beach to go up to the Overlook for sweeping vistas. be warned if you don’t like heights you may not like the Overlook as much.
taking the Fox Trail is quite the workout so is the hike back from Muir beach, another hill and the last hill after Pirates Cove is another bun buster. you’ll get a great work out with amazing views so much better than a gym!
The parking lot at Tennessee Valley Trail head fills up quickly on weekends so recommendation is to get there no later than 8:30, this will also help you avoid the crowds of people just going to the beach.

Beautiful hike! Sweeping views of Muir and Tennessee beach and the coastline in between. Pretty challenging - most of it spent climbing steep hills.

Great hike and beautiful views! Beware of rattlesnakes though, there was one on the trail that wasn’t happy about us walking there.

Loved this hike. Beautiful views, lovely sunsets. Foot traffic only in the beginning. A lot of people don't do the entire loop.

Great hike for lots of variety to keep kids entertained.

Wonderful views all around! get everything from rolling hills to the ocean. you can even get a glimpse of twin peaks and downtown SF. I would recommend going counter clock wise otherwise you end up with a bunch of steep downhill at the very end of your hike

Very strenuous hike with beautiful views! Bring lots of water, a windbreaker, and high protein food.

Nice hike along the coast with beautiful ocean views. I started at Rodeo Beach, hiked up hill 88, through the Tennessee Valley to Muir Beach, to the Organic Farm, over to Tennessee Beach and then back to Rodeo Beach. 14 miles and 3,600 feet of elevation gain.

Great for mountain biking not much for hiking.

Extended trail loop: clockwise from Rodeo Lagoon, 8.5 miles, 1400 ft elevation, 3 hours 4 minutes .

The hike started off subtle. We were hiking on flat gravel then the trail began to incline & it became more steeper the further we went. The view was beautiful. I brought binoculars & go to see a deer. Make sure you bring lots of water. I enjoyed it I would go back !

We hiked from Rodeo Beach to Muir Beach. This trail is definitely recommended for people who enjoy ocean views while getting some kick ass workout. It’s a hard hike but it feels wonderful afterward. Lots of going up and down interval along the trail.

The most amazing views! Walking down is the easy part because it’s all downhill but going back up is a little more challenging! I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Beautiful, dog-friendly out and back with some mellow rolling hills and a nice picnic bench 2 miles in to stop for lunch.

This was an amazing hike! I definitely agree with the hard rating. My husband and I hiked the route starting at Rodeo Beach up to Muir Beach. Lots of Beach scenery and lots and lots of hills, including two very steep hills! We packed a lunch for the halfway point and ate before we returned. We also too 3 liter camelbacks of water each and pretty much killed it off. Layers of clothing is a must as well. The Beach is cool while part of the hike that is away from the beach is warmer, plus it heats up in the afternoon. I would definitely do this hike again!

Dogs not allowed on half of this trail. View is great, trail is nice. But once the trail crosses trail line highway there are signs posted: no dogs allowed.

Beautiful hike by the coast. A little windy near the water, but views are worth it at the top!

Great view of the bridge and water access. Highly recommend

Fantastic hike. Challenging in the beginning, but well worth it for the views. The ocean breezes are heavenly and the route is not very crowded. Not a very complicated route, just pay attention.

Hiked this on Memorial Day - wow did we luck out with weather! Clearest day I've ever had on these trails. Great hike and the elevation is broken up across a few big hills throughout so it doesn't feel so bad. Be careful about sun protection and water as there is no shade at all on this trail. Also the part by Tennessee Valley is very overgrown with lots of poison oak so wear pants or be prepared to scrub your legs well after the hike. Worth the workout and the views!

Expanded this loop to get some extra distance. Hiked clockwise starting at east end of Rodeo Lagoon - Miwok Trail - Bobcat Trail - SCA Trail - Conzelman Road rounbadout- Julian Trail - back to starting point. Total hike: 8.5 miles, 1,391 ft elevation, 3 hrs. Great trail. Refer to recorded map.

Great view but easy to get lost. After 8 miles later and enjoying the beach I had to take a taxi back.

I actually did this the other day but with an add on to the middle green gulch trail on the way to muir, it adds a little variety for plants and air-type. In all I hiked for 9.5 miles and I was tired coming back, but if you just stick to this nice trail it is pretty nice...I think there are much prettier side paths off the fire road that are really worth exploring and I hardly see people on them. I almost stepped on a baby bunny at one point, didn't even move! So cute...wear sunblock!!!!

Hiked this in April. Beautiful coast line, generally an up-and-down trail so no long continuous climbs but still a good trek.

One of the places I've been to.
